Seagulls during match

Sometimes in the 1st div I actually loved watching them more than the match. Used to watch them gather up in concourse after they had a bit swoop fest. I even used to chant "seagulls, seagulls".

Do you think the gulls are clever enough to see the seats emptying and then they know there will be chips etc to get?
This would explain why they circle on about 80 mins no matter what the KO time is.
They hardly have to be clever. Get plenty practise with some of the states wobbling around town centres up and down the land

Agree with this. A neighbour feeds them in the back lane behind our house. They congregate when expecting to be fed. If I see them I pop out with a Nurf (sp) gun and blast the feckers... I'm sure they don't come back, just tell their mates where the free food is.

Found them absolutely fascinating today. I was watching a specific one to try and get into the mind of a seagull and understand his/hers movements. They would sit on the seat in the lower premier concourse before gliding all the way to the other side to sit again. Also made me think if we could have some sort of robotic seagull with cameras for eyes feeding back live info to our coaching staff.
Here's hoping Polanski gets in and legalises those drugs for you, marra.

Said to my son, it was like the good old days of a half empty stadium! Hopefully we won’t go into fall on self-destruct / free fall mode again!!
I stated on other thread that in 1st div at times I just watched them. They used to swoop like fuck then sit and natter on up in concourse.

Wish I knew what they talked about

The pigeons must get pissed off on cold days. They clearly sit up in the rafters of the concourse but they've been evicted now tht its back in full use.

Cardiff at home last year. 4 or 5 of them emerged and flew down and covered the right back spot for a good 5 mins as we were camped in Cardiffs box for a while

I actually found them quite soothing as they mainly appeared towards end of the match by which point being on the end of a row next to a stairwell i could no longer see most of the pitch due to those leaving the stadium in droves, was like hitchcocks the birds but without Tippi Hedren

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned, you can get a recording of a sparrow hawk as a deterrent ( other raptors are available) the Stack at Seaburn has one, I hear every morning on my walk, very effective.

I commented earlier in the thread that they always turn up when we're doing shit. No coincidence, they see all the fairweathers streaming out and head in for a half-eaten pasty or two.

Just said this on a different thread.
I've been to other coastal grounds such as Pittodrie in Aberdeen and they bring in a 'Hawk' which circles the ground keep and fettles the gulls.

Even a few fake birds in each corner would likely keep the gulls away. I think there was some at one point.... but this has fell to the way side evidently. Needs addressing but will cost money (therin lies the issue)

This is almost something 'Methadone Mick'would come out with in Still Game🤣
They had a big wooden hawk statue on a rig i was on once result helideck absolutely full of seagull shit.

I get in 76 yards and like watching them when stadium is empty after the match. There’s loads of them swooping down and mooching around between seats looking for bait.
