Scotty Borthwick - Is He A Genuine #3?

Deserves to bat higher than 8 if he does get picked but not sure if he should bat at 3.

Have him and Root share the bowling as we don't have a stand out option and have 4 pace bowlers (including Stokes).

If Prior is still injured then we could pick Foster as a genuine keeper and put him at 8.
 
Certainly justified it today, even though he was dropped a couple of times ....... 164 n.o. against quality bowlers anarl ..
 
There is absolutely no point England picking him and batting him at 8 like, he is a quality batsman.
 
can you see a moores team doing this? the top five are set in stone until moores is sacked.

there is absolutely no chance borthwick will get selected at 3, even if he scores 2000 runs this summer

Got to be better than Carberry, but I know where you're coming from and reluctantly agree with you.

Oh good I would be so disillusioned if Carberry got picked, he isn't good enough IMO.

Root is the one who should be worried IMO

ali has made a ton plus in the second division today. never seen much of robson, but i am basing my team on moores. morgan has hardly done anything recently but they think he could score quickly a la pietersen.

There is argument for Patel ahead of Ali too

Someone made a good point on twitter, not like it would happen....

Is the likely 3-8 of Root, Bell, Ballance, Stokes, Prior, Ali any stronger than Ali, Bell Patel, Borthwick, Prior, Stokes?

You get the impression that England view Scotty as a bowling all rounder, where we know it is more the opposite.

I have no doubts if he was given an extended run in England's top order he would score runs, will never happen.

agree be a big call, just pointing out he is in big form, n short term i think he'd perform just as well as root
