Schkoda!

I work in the car game so have a bit of knowledge of all things automotive.

The new radio advert for Schkoda is weird. I know Porsche is pronounced Porsha but I’ve never heard Skoda pronounced Schkoda as it is on the advert. Ridiculous.

Anyway, enjoy your schnight everyone.
That's what you get asking Steve McClaren to do adverts for people. SHTEEVE.

it is testiment to the incredible job VW have done.

when I was a boy the skoda was akin to a battle tank and a shit one at that. it was THE go to car (and LADA) for vehicle ridicule.

present day, and the skoda is a mainstream brand, and their confidence now is such, that we are subtly being edcutated on our mis-pronunciation of the name.

can you imagine them trying that stunt in the 80s and 90s.

Aye, I’m not questioning the spelling or pronunciation of other brands.

But Skoda has always been Skoda, I’ve never heard it called anything else.

The Mitsubishi "Pajero" - I was in Benidorm years ago (look at me) - and there was a GB registered Pajero driving around there. The locals were stopping in the street pointing at it and laughing.
Pajero in Spanish is "wanker".
The unsuspecting owner was driving a wankers car - the Mitsubishi Wanker
