Saudi Arabia 2030

Don’t think so just it’s Mexico, USA and Canada, my mate who comes on holiday can’t get in to the USA cos he was a naughty boy many years ago 😂😂
The Canadian venues are Toronto and Vancouver.

Edmonton was originally part of a trio but it was dropped. pity as could have just driven there and back on the day..assuming of course i'm still alive and kicking.

Vancouver's a good 11 hour drive, though have a mate there, so things stay the same then that's on. Flights will be an arm and a leg as usual during any huge event.

It’s only 4hr for me but accommodation will be ridiculous. Vancouver is already one of the most expensive places to live. My mate has a flat there but we will be relying on the elderly Hungarian woman there dying in the next 4 hrs to stay there 😂. He does have an RV too which would be an option too

It certainly isn’t. I’m there now and we’ve had a brilliant time

It’s been very safe, loads to do and great fun. Every hotel in Doha has 3 or 4 different bars and the quality is fantastic, including numerous rooftop bars with superb views.

It’s been an eclectic mix of people, we’ve mixed with people from dozens of countries and it’s all been good humoured fun, as it should be.

We’ve had times when we’ve had a right good drink and other days (the match days when we haven’t bothered as we wanted to have clear heads to enjoy the football).

Last Friday we went to a brunch event at the Westin hotel in town. We had an outside table next to the pool and dance floor and had the best time. Again the mix of people was great and included several very openly gay people, who danced and had fun with all of the other guests with no issues at all. Everyone there had loads to drink and partied away, class
On another night we went to see Fat Joe and again there was a great mix of people there. We got chatting to some locals who were downing plenty drinks and we had a great laugh with them

My findings are that there’s been a whole lot of crap spouted about Doha and Qatar, believe me it’s brilliant. Party town

Much much safer than a night out in the U.K., no arseholes looking for trouble.

Well done to the hosts, brilliant job!

There's absolutely no way Doha is a "party town" like, despite Fat Joe and the "several very openly gay people"

After seeing your other thread about this you must be on the payroll.

Have you been? It’s been absolutely epic
It's looked utterly soulless from the outside like. Follow a couple of lads on twitter who went. Must have walked round that corniche thing about 350 times. Did the same thing over and over again. Getting to that tent ground england played at a bit appeared to be painful.

I've been to dubai and that was woeful (very nice hotels granted). This just looked a small scale, quiet version of that.

What did look good was that they were able to go to loads of games. But just highlighted it was a tournament for those who had a lot of spare cash.

Jesus. Of course it's not OK.

My fairly simple point is slavery is bad. Why's that so hard to understand?

On the contrary, the travel to Al Bayt was impeccable. Hop on the metro, off that onto a bus (there were literally hundreds of buses so no wait). Same on way bacj

Best organised travel I’ve witnessed anywhere

As for nothing to do, dear me….the Souq is brilliant, the Pearl in brilliant, Kattara is brilliant, there is loads to see and do.

And finally as far as money is concerned the only thing that’s more expensive than home is the alcohol but even then it’s London prices (£7 a pint). Taxis are cheaper, food is cheaper for comparable restaurants and the value for money for a brunch is outstanding (4 hours open bar including champagne, shorts, wine and beer plus as much top notch seafood, steak etc etc that you want for £100)
All of us have had a superb week. Don’t believe the crap that’s written

Yes mate I'd fly past the likes of Berlin and Ibiza to go and see Fat Joe in Doha. If you enjoyed it that's great but your posts read like they were dictated to you by the Qatari tourist board. "Epic". "Loads to see and do". "Best WC ever" (from your thread). Mental.
So have you been?

I’m talking as I’ve found, that’s all

I have zero interest in going there. Would I need to visit South Sudan or North Korea before having an opinion on whether they are great places to go on holiday like?

You've posted a fair few long posts detailing how perfect everything was, they struck me as a bit odd and forced personally but if you enjoyed it then that's the main thing.

That's fair enough you went i didn't. Doesn't change the fact hundreds died building the stadiums and pretty much treated like modern day slaves (that's what the main issue is with then as hosts). That a relatively well off western tourist enjoyed himself doesn't change that mate.

There’s no chance it will be in the ME again so quickly, no chance
There is a very, very good chance of saudi arabia hosting the world cup in 2030. Its beyond naive to think otherwise. They will influence the vote by using their huge financial interest to dangle the promise of huge investment to nations of those who vote. Not too dissimilar to what qatar did with the likes of france. Infantino and mbs very close now too. And will circumvent rules by inviting Greece and egypt to host a couple of games.
