Saudi Arabia 2030

It isn’t a recent thing - the eye watering FIFA documentary showed that

Blatter had a brainwave and decided that they could bring money in through sponsorship - fair enough - but that was one of the roots of it all £££ wise as they went on the hyperload with it and it snowballed and snowballed

I think that’s where a lot of the “sell it to the highest bidder” attitude stemmed from

And wherever there’s money money money you’ll find corruption lurking around the corner

As mentioned - this doesn’t apply just to football. (a lot of) humans are greedy - that will never change unfortunately

Yep, and as seen over the last month… the world will accept it.

We will have years of media coverage about how wrong it is, pointing out all the negatives. But when it gets to it, they will all go there because money trumps all.

I wonder what it would take before people would actually boycott it.

Saudi Arabia could do half time executions to keep the crowd entertained.

This sadly. Most people are sheep. Sportswashing is basically saying look, everyone look at this you love this aren't we great, whilst all the while commiting crimes of the highest order.

People saying they loved the football and wasn't it great. In stadia people died building.

If the price is that the lovely Saudis promise to make up for any shortfall in oil production caused by Putin and thus help to bring him down, then it's a price I would pay.

If we have to play realpolitik, then at least we can get something out of it.

Long live Ukraine.
