Sam Fender

What's up with him?
I know a few people close to him and i know it’s all hearsay through them and something Sam has never spoken about but I’ve heard when he was a kid, he was really ill with cancer, managed to make a full recovery but his immune system is shot and his voice suffers badly as a result which is why he’s cancelled so many gigs over the last few years.

I'd normally have no problems going to a gig at Sid James, and would rip the piss out of any mag who wouldn't go to a gig at the SoL.

However, these aren't gigs, they are mag rallies! Will be absolutely stinking if the last ones were anything to go by...

I went to one of those gigs with the lass and her family the other summer and it was basically just an end of season mag party.

He did slip in an “louder so the mackems can hear” a couple of times. I’m not an enormous fan of his music but it’s OK. I’d not be going back to one and don’t feel I’m missing out.

It was just a bit cringey really, but he’s entitled to tap in to it if he likes. Not sure I could get excited about a band from Sunderland doing the same sort of thing.

Aye heard the same a few years back from a few unrelated people who went to school with him/knew him as a kid.

He (or his team) really shouldn't book so many live shows (and end up just cancelling half of them as he isn't up to doing it) and just do them less regularly but they won't do that. A full tour makes much more money than the odd one-off.

I got into a twitter spat with some burd who couldn't get her head around mackems NOT wanting to go and see him. "It's not about football" FUCKIN TELL THEM THAT!!
My missus can’t get her head round the reasons why I wouldn’t go see him live yet quite like a few of his tracks.

Till she went to the Sid James park gig.

She came back and said “yeah I get it now”

I honestly have absolutely no idea why you went to that or how you managed to stay once you got there.

I do quite like his music but i'd never go and see him live again.

Seen him in exhibtion park a few year ago before he was as big as he is now and even then it was a mag wank fest. Which i ironic bearing in mind you never heard a peep out of him about football until the takeover. Went to the shit tip the night it was announced, rocked up to the BBC for an interview the next day in a mag jacket he had to lend off someone.

sings Songs like Hypersonic Missiles and Aye then twerks for the saudi regime whilst charging his fans upwards or £80 a ticket
