Sam Fender

one minor thing about the new song\album, he's worked with tish murtha's daughter to do the album artwork with photos from the likes of her elswick kids collection... annoyingly the album art-work will be really good.

This thread isn't complete till someone says 'never heard of him'
I genuinely never heard of him until a few months ago when the lasses at work were wanking on about him. They thought I was taking the piss but why would I know he existed? I listen to Spotify and vinyl. I don't listen to the radio or watch music channels. I gave him a listen, absolute bilge, I'd never heard of the 1975 either much to their chagrin. also awful.

He’s an edgier version of Ed Sheeran.

He’s played a blinder with the Geordie craic, I don’t think he even mentioned the mags once till the Saudis rolled up.
He mentioned being a Mag on his Wiki page before Hypersonic Missiles came out 5 years ago.
I saw an early gig but wouldn't go to see him again with all the stupid Professional Jawdee shite that surrounds him now.
Shame as I reckon he is a real talent with the legs to make a proper career, as his music shows. However, he has sold the chance of that happening for the pathetic currency of being a Top Barcode, as everybody outside the area thinks it's stupid.
Fool.

unlike some of the victims of those he worships so much

I’ve said this about him on all these threads.

He had no interest in football up until the age of 18 by a mate who was his tutor at school.

His love of football coincided with the takeover and his management company promoting the over the top mag love
They’re all the same. Plastic as fuck. I’m mates with a lad who’s brother played on a youth darts circuit and said that fat mag knacker Dobey never mentioned football or Newcastle. Rocks up to his televised games in his mag inspired darts top though and winds up Sunderland fans on Twitter.

At first I thought he was a bit better than a lot of modern artists. But then the samieness gets to me.
If you’re going to ape Springsteen why have what sounds like a drum machine? Nee Max Weinbergs?
The Boss’s stuff would be a hell of a lot less interesting without the rhythmic varieties.
Fender just seems to have a constant “build to a crescendo” idea. Monotonous.
I think that’s probably a The War on Drugs influence to be honest. You’ll hear it throughout his albums… the influence that is, not just the drum machine like drums.

Had a listen to his new song, and just just found it a bit boring, I didn't mind some of his other singles but this really is dull

Can't think of any artist who has pushed a football team agenda as much as him. And it doesn't seem to just happen at his Newcastle gigs.

I suppose you could argue Oasis to an extent, but i don't think they ever created an environment where rival fans would feel uncomfortable going to one of their gigs.
And he’s not even from Newcastle
