Sam Elliott — New Overseas Bowler

Good signing that. He's still doing the business at the top level after taking a 5fer a couple of months ago against the Kiwis.

Looking on social media he seems to be a popular signing.

Bowling should line up as
Raine
Potts
Roach
Parky/Drissell

Can we get rid of Conners now?

Nobody who saw Potts for Durham last season (e.g. Yorkshire away) or England (Sydney) can be in any doubt as to his form.
Decent ball, bouncer, decent ball, bang one in, short ball and 'extra effort ball' which could be anything. Repeat until I was about to blow my top last season.

Don't p!ss on our excitement with facts. 🤔
I guess the positive is that he bowled 62 overs in a match and a half. The most recentish negative is a hamstring injury that made him pull out during a test v New Zealand.

For someone who is coming up to 38 and is likely to be bowling in cool damp weather, I must say I'd not overly optimistic.

(It's kind of a we know his flaws but we are hoping for the best.......like Peter Mandelson)

Never. It's not like we've got a history of signing overseas who pull up a with injuries a couple of matches into their contact.
