I've met the bloke a few times and I think he's smug git but thats a personal opinion. I don't think he's done anything wrong in this situation
 
I have sympathy for anyone caught up in this contrived muddle. The situation at our club is toxic and it's down to the current owners, Ellis Short (although not totally innocent in all of this) did enough to provide the club with what should have been a good opportunity to reset and start again, unfortunately his judgement of people was found wanting yet again.

True but Barnes chose to be the messenger knowing that 1) Donald talks one hell of a load of bollocks and 2) His record at f***ing up takeover bids is second to none.

:lol: I called it early on. Barnes isn't the best of sources and would appear to care more about his relationship with the club than he does with the fans.

I suppose it doesn't matter really, we're still no further forward.

Barnes like all local journos need both the club abd the fans onside ... in this case the club may have leaned on him to get the info out. I think he's been used.
 
Have Colman’s taken over yet? A bigger venue than Ghandi’s Temple, give it another year. It’s just plain boring now, does anything nice ever happen? Opposition own goal would be better than this.
 
If Riv and others have been given some info that something is happening, something will be happening, they don't strike me as bullshitters. It's just going slower than some would like but no one ever put a timeframe on this, it'll happen when it happens. If it doesn't they've hit a snag. That's life unfortunately, I just hope the snag isn't Donald.

The latter part is the crux of it mate, hence people's frustrations and overreaction. We haven't a clue what is going on, people involved are giving unrealistic timescales, not the first time either, and the season fast approaching with no recruitment team, Academy Manager, Chairman and a squad not much better than last years. It absolutely stinks of an owner with little or no money, or interest, in getting us where we need to be

It makes sense of you're just a fan wanting whats best, but Gray would be expecting to make some big money from his consortium getting the club. I doubt him or his consortium would happily roll over and let someone else reap the rewards if the club was ran well.
 
why Is Barnes being hung out to dry here by some posters on here? He reported what he was told by Donald in good faith. If he has been given duff information that isn’t his problem and shouldn’t be made the scapegoat if whatever is filtering out now isn’t 100% kosher. At the most, if the info turns out to be false then he has been played along with everyone else
