Can't create/score gerls but buckled wiv centre halves.....
Fookin Parkie lad
Baldwin and Ozturk have left; Feeney and Xhemajli (hopefully) have joined.

Baldwin’s lack of confidence made him a liability, whereas Feeney has a lot of potential (apparently). Ozturk (who I thought was OK) is exclusively a destructive, right sided centre half, Xhemajli is younger, left sided and (again, apparently) more comfortable with the ball at his feet.

This seems to be a decent and progressive approach to developing a squad, at a time when such a course is impeded by Coronavirus, the salary cap, and a club owner who has become bored with his toy.

Good post mate, but Bailey Wright must also be recognised as a new CB, as he got injured having played only 5 games, while on loan. Huge signing IMO.

An attacking MF in the mould of Szmodics or Maddison would be welcome and a good goal scorer to help Grigg......I don't see Danny Graham as being that man.

So. Any clearer to knowing whether it’s a takeover or a fakeover?

I think Big Willy Storey has shown his hand as a small time act given the size and age of Wolf Data... hardly a big announcement. I’m more sure than ever he’s a self promoting wank tramp now. Phew!

The problem Donald has - which this most rosy of scenarios paints - is that the pandemic introduces a f***ing ridiculous range of financial scenarios. Like Donald could ride it out, maybe, if all you said is a given. But it's not.

Less rosily, we could have a second wave and have no gate receipts for 75% of the year. Broadcasters could pull out because people lose interest and they decide to focus on the Messi-enhanced Premier League. In terms of its broadcast appeal, league one is really for the fans who go to games anyway, so if they are less engaged - why not? Then, for all that the salary cap reduces our cost base, its still easily the biggest in the league and how much more can he salami slice? He doesn't have a nice £10m Ivan Toney he can flog either - and its not a sellers market out there if he unearthed one, certainly not at our level.

He's a gambler, but this much of a gambler? He should park the ego and the optimism bias and sell-up.

Mind, if I were the prospective buyers, I'd be building him a bridge to climb-down. A little 5% holding, with no voting rights - why not?

Aye. It's all very valid to bring up.

One thing that people assume though is that the £9m share capital was actually spent last year. I don't think it was. In fact I'd go as far as to say there's no evidence yet that almost any of it was spent. SAFC almost certainly did not make an operating loss of £9m in 19/20, in fact we should have broken even (roughly) at worst. This year (20/21) was when reality was set to bite.

I estimate we lost very little from Covid at the end of the season either. 500k gate receipts (or thereabouts), 50% of which was covered by a rebate from the EFL and a bunch of salary contributions that will have totalled hundreds of thousands paid by the government. I'd actually be surprised if Donald didn't make a tidy little profit from that period.

So where's the £9m gone? A few hundred grand on scouts who didn't last long? Not on players. Not on facilities that anyone is aware of (maybe a lift...). No debt repayments, no operating loss forecast. No... anything that we can see. It is almost impossible for Donald to spend £9m on a club without debts and breaking even, and not have anything to show for it.

I guess in a nutshell, I think a very substantial proportion of that £9m is possibly still sitting in the club right now, earmarked for covering the operating loss this season (was £5m before).

It’s also worth bearing in mind that had the parachute payments not been written off we’d have made a sizeable profit season 1. Season 2 saw us receive £15m in parachute payments, £9m share capital from FPP, further reductions in salary costs and player trading so should have been a profitable year based on what we’ve seen in the accounts for the year before.

New trees?

Storey's new company Wolf Data Systems must be the world's only office equipment dealership also claiming to be an expert in blockchain technology. They've also lifted their company "Values" word for word from another company's website. Laughable really.
I wonder how difficult it would be to play him at his own game - set up an energy drink company under the brand SMB Energy, perhaps with an antlers logo in red and white livery...

It's not like you would actually have to sell any.
