It’s unlikely to transform us from the mid-table attacking team we currently are to one of the best in the league, mind.
I’m not saying it will but it won’t hurt and will give us more cover on that side of the pitch, and we won’t be worse off for it.

Great to get our number one target and it certainly seems like a progressive signing. All that being said, it has to be a concern that the club have looked at the issues the team has had for the past two seasons and decided that the solution is more centre halves. If we don’t improve our attacking threat we’re achieving fuck all this season.

Its gonna be a typical Parkinson team. Very strong at the back and very hard to break down. We do score in most games so if we win games 1-0 and we go up i personally will be awa the moon with that

A genuine back three gives huge license to the wingbacks as an attacking force and relies on them for width. This could be exactly what’s needed to improve our forward play as counter intuitive as that is. Still need a good goal scorer, more progressive midfielder and competition at LWB though.

I hope he does marra. As I say he looks a good signing. We’re desperate as an attacking force though. Need so much improvement and I’m far from convinced that a centre half - even one who mimics Willis from the left - will unlock us.

We definitely need more up top, but you do see plenty of examples of marginal gains that end up making a big difference. Like how putting Vergini at RB under Poyet for the final run in suddenly had us playing total football.

We rely hugely on the wingbacks to create in this formation, anything that potentially benefits Hume (one of our best attacking threats) takes the load off him slightly and helps him focus on his delivery should equate to a higher quality of chance being created on a regular basis.

I still agree that it won't be much help if all Hume has to aim for is Charlie Wyke.

There were about 6 or 7 posters on here all getting really excited a few Tuesdays ago which gives you hope summit had happened and they were all hearing the same news

It would appear they were all making up their excitement
