This is where the sorry excuse for local media should be applying pressure and highlighting what hes doing. The weak little weasel of a man doesn't like criticism or being unpopular. The Echo etc should be waging a sustained campaign against the bell end, as should the likes of Downie etc. If this was going on up the road they would all be constantly banging the drum.

To be honest, the pressure on him was ramping up, especially in the echo. It all seemed to stop when Barnes gave his info.

I’m starting to believe that selling the best young talent was his intention all along. Putting his mate in that position assisted in that and was culpable also.

When the first rumours broke of the kids being available for compensation, someone posted on here that "the owners couldn't believe that they could get more money for a teenager in the youth set up from a Premier league team than it cost to buy a proven 3rd or 4th division player".

I'm not saying he was ITK, but by god if it was a guess it was a bloody good one.

RR staying conspicuously out of this one..

Been wondering about that. Strange they seem to have let up on the pressure...if he has used Barnes to quell dissent it's worked in the short-term but may be kicking the can down the road. If the takeover doesn't happen I'd like to see every single ST DD payment cancelled, no one buying streams and no one showing up even when we re-open. I'd also like to see anyone in the media who has any vested interest in SAFC remaining a football league club drag them through the much in the press, we know how much it bothers him.

Let's be honest, he's pulled the same trick as last year. Take the heat of himself with some takeover talk, until the season gets underway, then taking a punt on promotion and cashing in his parachute money in the Championship.

As for Nick Barnes, Donald has stitched him right up. Knowing very well that he will be seen as a genuine source if the information comes from BBC Newcastle. This thread is testament to that.

Barnes should know better than to trust the word of a known compulsive liar tbf.

I thought I was too old to be bothered mate and did it for my son. But he’s old enough to sort himself out. This crooked wanker has saw me off after 50 years of support and I want to let him know. I couldn’t give a fuck what people think, but some sort of demonstration is required. He has done this on purpose the bent bastard, because the spineless twat can’t face the proper music. We need to up the ante against him.
Agreed mate. One thing that strikes me is that if this turns out to be waste of time, the pressure against him from fans will ramp up another level. So, if it is a ruse, it was very badly thought out. I can see, on here, folk saying that there should not be abuse directed at him. I agree with that. However, I think you have it spot on; there should be no financial support and there should be a message of no more.

Newspaper report mate. Might have been the Daily Mail one, but am not entirely sure.

I think if that was the case he'd actually be trying to give us as good a chance as possible of going up. He isn't doing anything but laying people off with no replacements. He doesn't have the money to improve us now without help and he can't afford to keep bleeding.

I think he will be gone soon, people just can't be patient eveb when they have been told it the timeline is completely normal.
This^ He doesn't want to be here, and hanging onto the club just incase we get promoted isn't going to benefit him as there is no guarantee of promotion
Chris Wetherspoon saying that his gut feeling is that Donald is holding out for promotion before selling up rather than having any intention of getting rid now.
Its just another person's opinion, doesn't make him right or wrong. We will find out eventually which ever way it goes

This is why I think something is happening. Theres been barely a peep out of any of the fanzines or press, local or national, with a view to putting any pressure on the current ownership.
The only reason I can think of for the deafening silence is that they know it’s in the clubs best interest to keep quiet for the time being.
