 I suppose he might be, the lad certainly seems confident. Personally I'll be amazed if anything substantial breaks any time soon. I'm happy enough that things are going on in the background, but don't think anything is at the signing off stage. There's not really much rush, any new owner would likely need to follow the current people's recruitment given the lack of time and certainty over the wage cap so I think all parties will take their time to try and get the best deal
Kinda disagree there mind. Every day without an academy manager or a recruitment set-up is a day lost.

I think a lot depends on how the likes of Diamond and Neil can do, if they can fill a couple of spaces adequately without contributing to the wage cap then I'd be hopeful that we could add maybe 2 or 3 more (with plenty to spend wage-wise so hopefully get someone decent) and have a chance. I mean, ideally we'd be getting more than that, but I don't think we're miles off.

I agree, if we can spend any remaining wages wisely and get another striker in who can score reasonably regularly then i'm pretty confident about going up. We know that Maguire and Gooch will contribute with goals and at the back we are infinitely more solid with Bailey Wright. Like you say Diamond and Neil are a bonus, Neil in particular on the limited time I have seen him play looks like he might have the right composure and decision making to make a positive difference to us.

If we start season well it's bad for takeover as Donald will hold out

Doubt he will tbh. We're likely to lose a lot of money this season, especially due to Covid. If we go up you get about £6m more or so, but with wage rises and the odd signing we'd need to make to be even slightly competitive I doubt we'd be any better off. I doubt he can afford to cling on, losing money every month and then hope to sell a club in a worse financial position. Even with being in a higher league (which a good start doesn't guarantee) he'd need to hope he'd get a bigger bid and that it could go through this time etc. If he has a willing buyer now it would make sense to sell regardless of the start of the season, as long as it is vaguely near what he expects.

Desperate for a dynamic central midfielder IMO. Don't know if Neil could do that job but we need to add more goal threat to our first XI. There just aren't enough goals in any starting team we put out.

I am more concerned about the team we are able to put out at the minute. Still way short of whats needed imo
Exactly mate,im still fascinated by the hundredsof players hanging around without clubs.I cant get my head around it are they thinking Peps gonna be giving them a ring.Im talking about the Garbutts and Maddisons of this of this world, crazy.
