We dont know for definite that we are in a period of exclusivity bar from Barnes post at the start of the month. There isnt even any point in donald agreeing exclusivity because it stops any potential bidding war. My hope is that it is the truth and we hopefully will have new owners with a better vision, my frustration is only people saying it is definitely happening because we arent hearing anything which seems backwards logic to me. I hope what you believe is true

I agree, it's frustrating we aren't hearing anything, but this must have something to do with last time. Everything was take over this, takeover that. Then it ended up being investment as he changed the goalposts. He embarrassed himself and lost the fans. This time, I'm hoping, that everyone involved is keeping their NDA water tight

This is pure guesswork on my part I'm not ITK but I want Fuhrman to take over therefore he will, possibly today.

Even with NDAs there would me some form of leak that would have found its way to a reporter, yet the only people who have spoken about it is Barnes and that sun reporter who spouts anything. People are then believing this Magnus bloke which would mean there is a leak but not picked up by anyone bar a small forum?
He may want to go, but he wants to go with his profit. If lying about a takeover buys him a bit more time then it is worth it

A decade or so, Mrs G (no!) worked for a FTSE100 company. In the time she was there, she was involved in four or five acquisitions, the largest of which was valued in billions. Not a word leaked out about any of them until completion was announced. You just make sure that as few people are in the loop as possible.

I suppose the main question to that is whether you trust this current group of misfits could be that professional?

That’s your wife's company being professional and doing it properly. Not sure this lot are the same, they’ve shown that previously unless they’ve learnt their lesson

Everything you say makes perfect sense, however, my worry is the opposite - nothing is happening and SD is using this NDA/Exclusivity rumour to sit back and wait, he's not getting any grief because a lot of fans think he's in negotiations, we get off to a good start and he hangs around hoping for promotion and his big pay day.

Which would be fine but the same people are also supposedly telling Magnus and Smug they can post it on messageboards. The two things dont stack up for me. You cant be completely watertight and prevent anything leaking to press but also be so loose-lipped that you'll encourage people to post exact details of how shares are going to be distributed on an internet messageboard

There is of course this. I'm just going off the fact that Nixon calling the last takeover off first, and now he knows about this. Someone is obviously leaking snippets in the background. Just boils down to who you want to believe. Stewy is a knacker, but I'm still holding hope that there is something in this

The press could well know stuff though and are just not allowed to say anything for legality reasons. if they fucked up the deal by misreporting something then they could be in stacks of bother.

Barnes has obviously said a bit, Nixon as well, and Downie replied to a tweet the other day from a Sunderland fan saying something like “I believe from experience that the less a deal is reported the more chance it has of going through”. I think there’s others as well.

Yes,but it's a different environment. FTSE 100 companies are subject to rigid rules about the release of price sensitive information and potential insider trading......not the case with us.

I suppose the way to look on the positive side is that he's literally keeping schtum because he's going to lose so much money he needs this deal to go through and can't afford to jeopardise it with any leaks.
