George Kinnell, signed because he was Jim Baxter's cousin. Centre half, Rugged and no nonsense footballer. Don't know what Seggarman means, he wasn't slow and was descent but we were used to class , after watching Charlie for so long.

While I'm on, here's a moan to previous posts,I detest the use of the word 'mum' , do people who use it also say 'dud' . I grew up in Houghton and I never heard anybody say 'mum'. I struggle like hell to get greetings card with 'mam' on down here. When I'm back in Durham I buy them in bulk from the indoor market where there's loads with 'Mam' on. Mam comes from mammary gland and is the correct terminology, as I keep telling these posh buggers. I asked the manager of Clintons in York if they had any Mother's Day cards with 'Mam' on. She answered "we had a few but we had to send them all to our Sunderland store."
Funny they have loads with Dad on but not 'Dud.' 🤣

That's because people in other areas say "Mummy and Daddy" when they're little, and not "Mammy and Danny".

It always gets me this use of Mam, Mum and Mom and for that matter we can add Ma and MaMa.
The female physiological reasoning for Mam, Ma and MaMa are quite easy to understand and have been mentioned previously so the "corrupting" to Mum and Mom in other regions/countries, I like to believe is related to its linking with the possessive attributive adjective "my". In Ireland and particularly here in the North East we have historically had great difficulty in using the word "my" much preferring to use "me" (think about it) and it just doesn't sound "right" to say "My Mam" somehow "me Mam" sounds better suited to our (and certain other) dialect. In exactly the same way "my Mam" doesn't sound as "correct" as "my Mum" to those who speak "The Queen's English" whatever that is???

Apologies - I know this has nothing to do with "The Great Takeover Saga part ii)"

you can't say that on here man, you have to believe something is happening and it will happen ;)
This is not at you, but there is nothing happening, if a deal was close would you then bother getting rid of kit man and the washer woman who both been there 30 odd years.
Do people think Furhman looked at club and said our problem is the kit man and washer woman.
The owner now believes with the salary cap, I can now keep out the way,let others take the grief and make a profit out of them mugs up North even in league 1, that’s where we are at.
That’s the truth I’m afraid.

It could be that the club is trying to or has been asked to give the new owners as clean a slate as possible to start afresh.
