Star and Garter closed in 2010. I shit you not I first came up to Aberdeen to do a recce on a job around the corner on Justice Mill Lane and thought "looks like a decent local for the next few months", I came back a fortnight later to get started and it was f***ing boarded up! 😂 It's called The Stag now, but it was closed for quite a while IIRC.

The Grill is still open - with Covid going on they've closed half of Union Street so there's a gazebo outside in the bus lane, good boozer. Had a few nights in there that have ended with a big ol' memory blank in the morning 😬
Aye the Grill they used to paint the ceiling every week, nee ladies lavy, was a class boozer

I understand Sunderland AFC owner Stewart Donald has entered a period of exclusivity with a prospective buyer - I believe it's not Mark Campbell or William Storey- with a view to selling before the season starts. Sale could be much sooner #safc

Aye, whatever.

If this was to come off quickly, you would think Parkinson is on borrowed time.

Unlikely. Too many things to do, last thing you want to be doing is paying off a manager before you've even got your feet under the table and first time owner of a club (likely). Unless it was someone coming in with major money, which it wont be.

If we are ever bought again I would much prefer it if Mr X coughed up £xxxx amount and owned the club, not to be owned by someone who has set up a company that has shares in a company that owes money to Aunt Fanny so by default they own SAFC.

TBF it was that way under Drumaville and then under Short, who bought Drumaville IIRC. Just the way things are done now more often than not. Like undisclosed transfers.

Nixon never knows anything, yet some choose to believe him

Like some of the posters on here tbf. I dont post half of what I know which is very little i might get 1 or 2 tir bits a year but never post it on here as the people that tell me ask that i say nothing.

The last info I was given was the FPP dealnwas off so it's been a while. I think people should post the facts or post nothing.

A daft question, if FPP got the club by a default on a loan what would happen in if they didnt pass the fit and proper persons test? Or would that have been sorted prior to the loan agreed?
Nee idea what would happen, they'd probably have to find a buyer themselves in some way or another?
But given the people who have been allowed to own football clubs previously I don't think there's any worries with the guys involved with FPP.
