Saka

The ‘Arteta Myth’
First managerial/head coach role is Arsenal
Not bad considering prior he was putting out the cones and ironing bibs at City
No jobs managing in football outposts like Hartlepool or St Mirren for Mikel
In just under 6 season he has spent over 1bn, only Chelsea and Man Utd have spent more, both of those seem to have had a new manager every season

He's a good player but he's had a pretty average season by his standards.

Who are the other options at RW for an England squad, according to West Ham fans Bowen has been average/poor for a while, Palmer looks shot.

It’s impossible to rate him in arteta arsenals

Last night it was defensive display, zero on the ball really

And most of this season when he did get the ball he progressed it up the wing and passes it backwards, again on the instructions of artetas risk averse football.

He’s been like this for well over a season it’s that reason people don’t rate him because he’s not in an environment to show it and ultimately asking him to uno reverse for England is a big ask
That said the world class tag gets thrown away to generally

Technically all players in the prem are world class in the grand scheme of things but when we’re taking ballers, legends, ballon dor winners, he isn’t it, there’s no shame in it.

If Yamal is world class how can saka be.

I've always wondered how he's always near the top in the Sun Dream Team points tables every season. Very rarely see him stand out. Definitely a media favourite. Im not saying he's shite or owt but he's never blew my hair back either.

The obsession with Arsenal on this thread is pathetic and bizarre.

People wishing cheating State run Oil clubs to win.

Disgusting.

You were the one who previously created a thread congratulating them when they won the league.

Whats the change? Is it because youve now realised they have an Israeli company as a sponsor?

Every league Champion should be congratulated 👏
Unless they cheated like City.

I mean the bitterness towards a proper football club winning, not a State run Oil club like City/PSG.

It's bizarre.

With perhaps the worst performance in a final ever from a “top” player?

Absolutely shocking.

0 goals
0 assists
0 shots on target
0 chances created
0 key passes
0 successful take-ons
0 accurate crosses

Should probably have given away a pen.

Can he really be our starting right winger at the WC?
Followed team orders of be behind the ball at all times.
He won't be playing that role for England though. Are we judging him on tonight's game only? Happy for you to provide evidence of other games prove your point.
He has been average all season.
Hes seems to switch between brilliant and poor game by game,on his day he can be fantastic
He is being ruined by Arteta’s tactics. Hasn’t been brilliant in at least a year. This season he has switched between poor and average.
Sad really as, 2-3 years ago, he looked like being a world-beater.

He's a decent enough player but wildly overrated. Last two seasons he's been very average (though I think some of that is down to playing in an overly negative teams that's set up for set pieces).

He definitely needs to stop pretending he has a bad leg, it's embarrassing.

Arsenal receiving zero benefit from any Oil states of course.
I don’t particularly like Unai Emery. He is a sour faced fucker. Despite that, if it had been PSG v Villa, and Villa attacked as I would expect them to I would have been hoping they won.
Arsenal’s brand of football is stifling, turgid and dull. I want to be entertained not watch a 10 behind the ball attempt to strangle the life from a tie.

causal racism at its finest, more so when he plays for England
Most criticism on here seems to be IMO justified observation of his deteriorating footballing form and ability. Got nowt to do with him being black.

Granted he got unduly slated after the penalty shoot out when the blame lay squarely in Southgate’s court, as he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Odegaard was by far the worst player last night, followed by Trossard and then Gyokores. Saka did well defensively and was part of an excellent defensive performance but had two players tight to him whenever he had the ball. Yet Saka is the one singled out as is often the case.
