I am pretty much of this opinion, to be honest. There is nothing to suggest so far that these folk will be happy to flush their wealth on this, in fact, I would say the opposite.

To be fair the value has risen a great deal in the last 16 months apparently.

Well given that the club was valued at £15 million based on Sartori buying 20% for £3 million I can’t really see that a group of people worth about $20 billion not including Dell would be all that interested in spending this much time buying us for the sake of a £20 million profit split 3 ways.

Take care of the millions and the billions take care of themselves.

How much do you think they can gain from getting the club stabilised in the premiership?

The problem is well known, they want to live in London, ask any team in the North and they all say the big players won't live in the North
That didn’t seem to stop Boro from signing the likes of Ravenelli, Emmerson, Juninior, Southgate, etc... Footballers follow the money and/or successful clubs. Obviously the lure of London is a factor, but with the recent events involving Ozil, it can also be seen as a place to avoid.

Not obliged no, but if that is how they are playing it then be honest, dont talk about being open and that the fans are of the upmost importance. It's our club apparently, they're just the custodians.
I often go to a local Italian restaurant. Owner is always there and always friendly, attentive and willing to chat. He always remembers us. I often praise him and tell him how good it is to see him so busy and how good the atmosphere is. He will say what periods are busy and what days are not. Sometimes he will let us know about future plans re menu, staffing, decor etc and changes made since our last visit. If the place were to close I would be genuinely very disappointed. But you know what? I've never had the inclination to ask him to reveal how much he paid for the place, how much profit he makes or how much £ he takes out of the business for himself. It is not my restaurant but it is my favourite. My 'club' , kind of.

On the money they are worth, they can earn whatever profit they might make on a quick sale in a week. It isn’t worth their while to go to this effort to flog us in 12-18 months. How do you not grasp that?

Well given that Palace are valued at up to £300 million, Newcastle up to £350 million and Leicester £370 million then if they buy us for £40 million they can make quite a bit.

What I don't understand is people seeing this as a bad thing. If they make us an established PL team and sell us for £300m more power to them. As long as SAFC is moving in the right direction I don't give a rats, also, why are we talking about how much they'll sell for when they haven't even bought us yet

I understand what you're saying but that isn't what the owners are saying is it?

It's our money according to SD, I would be very interested to know if the owner at your Italian restaurant has said that to you before?

Does the owner of your Italian ask you to come in and fix the place up in your spare time?

The more I come to think about it, your analogy isn't very apt, shame on the bloke who liked it.

Good anology. It amazes me just how much forensic financial interest of SAFC is shown on here. I’d guess that level of detail in regard to finances isn’t examined, opinions offered and comment made of their own employers business financial model by most people who post on here - and realistically that’s much more significant.
shame on the bloke who liked it.

I’ll get me sackcloth and ashes out ...

I don't understand your exasperation. I don't "grasp" that isn't worth their time due to it being based on because these people are rich, they don't wish to make a small profit.

As for the valuations on those clubs, do you see a line of buyers for the mags? How much exactly do you think they would have to lose to get us to the standard of Leicester?

I don't think this argument has been thought through.

It's our money could be interpreted a number of ways. It could be that he meant his, Methvens and Sartori's as they own the club and because of that it's their money.

The replacement of the seats was something that a lot of fans and posters on here had been clamouring about for years and SD & co used it well as a reengagement proces with the fans. I didn't here one complaint from any who helped out.

SD has no legal requirement to show any form of transparency to the fans yet he does, sure he keeps some things to himself but i think most people would do the same.

Hang on. The current ownership invited such 'forensics' by declaring themselves to be ultra-transparent and the likes. As well, the club got itself into a right old mess under the old owner and hardly anyone said anything - press included - until it was too late. If no one else is going to hold people to account then it falls on us as fans to do so.

Not saying you're one of them but it's interesting that a lot of people who praise the current ownership for what they say they've done financially - saved the club etc. - also say people shouldn't be questioning the bits of the financial story that don't add up.

The 'bad' things?

If he wants to be transparent then playing up the good and downplaying the bad isn't that. Sorry.

last season leicesters squad cost (apparently) about 270m. west hams 230m. we could just buy their squad, but in reality it'll depend on how well we do in the transfer market and if we make profit on anyone we buy as we climb up the ladder. judging by our past record we'll probably have to spend 500m to get a squad worth 200m.

Let me clarify what I was trying to say. SD said "its the fans money", I'm not sure that can be interpreted many different ways.

I'm 100% behind us having no divine right to see the accounts, I fully understand that.

But you shouldn't get to play the saviour role when it suits, you shouldn't get to garner the goodwill of the people and then not back up your claims.

If the club wants to be hard-nosed about the finances because as you and others have said, it is their right, then the owner should tell it like it is.

A bit like fat mike up the road they might see us as a vehicle for there other interests. The rumour that the stid Netflix show has played a part in their interest in us might go some way to backing that up.

Where did he state it was the fans money, honest question as i've never seen that before.

I get what you’re saying m8, but don’t agree. Any owner saying that, it’s just rhetoric, they’ve put their own money, and time and effort, in to buying the club, bettering it, and perhaps moving it on. We are just customers giving them an income stream. The lower down we are the more important we as customers are, the higher up the club gets the more incidental we become. It’s our club via emotional attachment, in every other sense in the modern game it belongs to whatever mega rich owner or corporation owns the shares in the company.
