Is Tony Davison still going to be about and involved? That’s his area isn’t it?

I'd be surprised if he went like. Seems to have a very good track record, is a MLF (not that that's a major thing, but in terms of doing the best he can I'm sure he's giving his all since he genuinely cares about the club), was seen as a bit of a coup getting him here and he hasn't been here long enough to be tarnished by anything that went on pre-Donald. Can't think of any other senior commercial people mind, unless we count AL who is financial

Aye it’s a shame. Should have been canny crack and a bit of harmless speculation and a laugh. Looks like it’s been derailed and turned into a pissing contest.

just ignore the posts that dampen the spirits. It’s easily done. It’s been a canny thread really. Full of daft twists and turns and what makes this place worth reading regardless of how accurate the info being divulged actually is

If this is true about one of the O’Brien’s being appointed as non executive director, who is doing the appointing here?

it seems bizarre to me that American finance and tech giants would buy a football club and agree to the appointment of a successful Wearside salvage dealer to the board. Could it be related to the development of the Sheepfolds?

If true that he knows Methven, he was in the box with the Dell lads and that Methven was instrumental in getting them here then it makes sense that it would be the new owners appointing him. They'll want to improve business links in the area first and foremost, appointing a person who is a supporter who, presumably, will have very good links already makes sense. They'll need some local knowledge in addition to people they can bring in who can "build the brand" further afield

Yes its already been shot - the cameraman was at Wembley to shoot the end of the second series but confirmed there were no plans to do any more - however he did not get the ending they wanted re promotion so perhaps this becomes the ending.

Yeah I got the wrong end of the stick from the post.

Fulwell 73's office is right near the stadium and I haven't had any emails to help. The last one I had was to drive the equipment back down to London because they were finished here and that was back in June.

You’re right of course mate, I sometimes get bogged down by the backbiting. My fault entirely.

fair enough response.

They don’t have any local knowledge really but the O’Briens do - and obviously they’ve got boxes at the stadium and are all Sunderland fans as far as I know.

I suspect it’ll be to have more local businesses involved rather than making decisions based on what may look good from the US but which locally don’t make sense (if that makes sense  )

I think you may be on to something. This could also be why they have said that the release of season 2 would be in the February timeframe so they could film the takeover then start working on the post production edits.

I’ve been told that senior people are being let go because the takeover is complete. Once that’s done it’ll be announced. I know for a 100% fact someone in a very senior position (but not a Director) is leaving today. But I’ve no idea when the announcement is coming
To me that points to donald only having a figurehead role as why wouldnt he defend the managerial team he has assembled?

It's obviously just hearsay but it does sound very interesting and makes you wonder exactly what will happen if the deal does eventually complete ;)
