Not quite true. The reading age of newspapers isn't an measure of the actual reading age of readers but the level of English language used in the articles written in the newspaper. 36% of Sun readers are from the ABC1 socioeconomic group and I doubt any of those have a readership age of under 10 and remember, over 60% of 16 yr olds achieve at least 5 A*- C GCSEs (or equivalent) grades including English and mathematics.

The Sun's reading age (March 2015) is between 7 and 9 (see the article below with link given to original article at mediafirst.co.uk)
May I suggest you go back before 2015 and read up on the Demographics for the entire UK that have been recorded for all of the Broadsheets and laterly Tabloid newspapers......I think you will find as recently as the late 90's, my statement is correct factually not that I have time now to dig the articles out.:)

I am 58 and 9 tenths and i can say hand on my lard clogged heart that i have never bought a sun newspaper!I have admired the scaffolding on sam fox and the like in my youth in the days before you were 3 seconds away from some sad teenagers wizard sleeve extravaganza on yer phone.

The sun is a comic with a decent sports section that rarely discusses anything positive about sunderland so when and if i end up burning in hellfire Istill wont have bought that(in my personal view) racist, xenophobic, and fascist rag!

Now this takeove is it done yet?anybody know? or is 606 the place to be?

The sun is probably produced for the reading age of between 9-11 to appeal like bland lager to th biggest audience. The pamphlets produced for NHS also have areading age of between 9-11 and in some deprived areas its lower than this! Now this takeover!
