SAFC - Fan Ban & Ticket Cancellations

Having just gone through the move seat process, I really recommend using this channel to get through to speak to someone. The speed in answering was first class. The club should charge for each enquiry if the service received is as good as this.

You must be one of the lucky ones. Well done.
Did you register on ASKSAFC, top right. It registers all your requests and if solved or not?

Only last 4 requests are shown.

One is still open (despite being created 6th March), one closed that I agree was answered, and two closed that were not answered.

25% is not a great success rate and it would be much less if they went back 18 months.

It's piss poor by any measure.

I've no doubt those people might well exist but I've never met any of them since match-tickets, purchased in advance, became the norm.

I've been in three different (active) supporters branches in that time and I can't imagine, for a second, that people in those groups would accept such behaviour. Yes, there's an element of the branch secretary exercising some discretion, but there's also self-policing that goes on by the group, which ensures the club do not have to impose a convoluted and unmanageable process that simply cannot work unless you get to a situation with national Digital ID proof-of-identity cards, read at the turnstile.

BTW..... if there are people who repeatedly take tickets off others, and therefore never boost their own loyalty points, they are doing themselves a massive disservice.
You are very naive if you think points farming does not go on. Or you’re playing dumb.

Perhaps you need to explain what you mean by points farming?

If you mean never going to games but taking the points, I’ve already addressed that.

No need to play dumb.. call it as I see it / experience it. No idea why you’d think otherwise as I don’t see how I would personally benefit from ‘playing dumb’.

I’d be very interested to hear examples to the contrary

There is undoubtedly a cohort of season card holders who make their numbers available. I suspect that these are, in the main, older supporters whose awaydays are over, have no intention of going to any away game, but see no harm in letting a younger supporter be able to go. This isn't points farming as such - they aren't ever going to use them for themselves. They just can't see any harm in letting other supporters have that ticket.

The process whereby your loyalty number is passed on to someone else who in turn buys a ticket for use by a person that is not you.

So no specific examples that you’re aware of, same as me?

I’ve posted 20 odd times on this thread & don’t feel inclined to repeat myself on my view of this debacle.

People pass tickets on for all sorts of reasons & we all know it. Which you believe are justified & which aren’t probably depends on your view of world.

But ‘Farming’? No, not in my experience.

That definitely happens. There's also people out there who aren't 'over the hill' (to just use 1st phrase that comes to mind) who make their number available to point hoard.
Its win win for them, cos when they do fancy an away day, they can pick and chose.

It is daft mind, cos as another poster said, the people using the numbers are actually slitting their own throats, cos they're going to games and not accumulating their own points.
Vicious circle

Christ alive, read the room lad.
If you fart in your seat the ticket office gurus will be charging for excess gas storage

You’re not wrong there like. People have let the issues on the ticketing side of things completely cloud every other good thing the club have done over the last 5 years and continue to do. I hope the ticketing side of it gets sorted as much as anyone (particularly customer service) but the way people are going on about ‘hating the premier league’ and slating the clubs every single move is absolutely mental. Anyone not on board with the constant criticism of everything is 100% met with disdain when as mentioned before, nobody even has all of the facts to criticise the club with. Mad.

Is the PL hate not a bunch things (obviously VAR being a big one and kick off changes another) and it's simply tickets are part of the shit that comes with being in the PL?

Even with tickets it's not just the away tickets issue such as what's happened here with the branch, it's the renewal of the season tickets by overcharging people (some probably never knowing) in the 3 tier system they hid prices, losing fans season ticket history, not allowing those in 76 Yards or Founders to move during seat move, the charging £20 admin to move seats, no refund if downgrading, not allowing ticket resale due to trying to sell a few more 'corporate' seats for silly money and whatever else has been happening over recent times. All that there I think is since being promoted to the Premier League.

It just seems they haven't got a clue how it's affecting fans and it stinks of someone who is part of the ticketing side of things is all about the money and who cares which fan it affects, as now we're in the Premier League the demand means someone else will take the place of a fan affected and will probably end up paying more money anyway.

But was it not well documented that KLD didn't see the need for a ticket office at all given how Marseille don't have one and it's all operated online? There's been little to suggest he's bothered about staffing the ticket office seriously and sorting the customer service out. I think much of it stems from the fact that the ticket office staff and the people who ran it were stripped out under the previous owners and the people there now aren't sure what they're doing and the rest is coming back from half-arsed, minimum wage style replies from people monitoring AskSAFC. We've never truly got the ticket office back.
Was Marseille as bad as we seem to be? Given the money coming into the club now then just how much would it cost to make the ticket office a little better than it is given the crap that's going on?

Can you imagine how this lot would deal with an FA Cup final ticket allocation. They can’t even keep basic records of how long people have had season tickets.

If, for example, you leave corporate after say 15 years (never missed an away game in that time), you manage to get a season ticket in general admission for next season and they get to the FA Cup final you’d miss out on a cup final ticket as you’d have been a season ticket holder for 1 season and you’d have 0 loyalty points as they’re treating you as a new customer.

Seen this shared on social media today, it’s not on is, absolutely disgraceful

Season tickets are sold out though aren't they? So no tickets for people 'downgrading'. Maybe they should make more available for these special cases though, can't be that many

There is 1,200 unrenewed tickets that are going to the waiting list sale next week.

They are stopping people downgrading because there won't be as many wanting to pay 5k a season for the seats. Pressuring them into renewing or missing out. Its obviously a calculated decision.

I might email them to encourage an initiative to stamp out points farming. One man; one ticket.

These tosspots who’ve built up loyalty points through non attendance and points farming are the scourge of the club. Hoarding their wares like hamsters then turning up for the glamour games. Total shithouses.

What stopped you getting points in the Championship season when several were on offer then?
