Sadiki to Chelsea (internet chat)

I stand by that a Hundred percent. Here I’ll say it again if we(Sunderland) can sell sadiki for £35 million pounds this club will be mad not to accept it. Then the club is £20million in profit and I trust the recruitment team to find a replacement as good as if not better, with money left over…. Taaadaaarrr simple
Terrible take this.

Profit is profit I get that.

But by your reckoning had we sold Jack Clarke for 3m. Bellingham for 6m, and Ross Stewart for 800k it would have been good business.

Hope we don't get a £400k bid come in for Hume as you'd have him away.

We are onto big numbers as we climb the pyramid of football right now very good players are in the £60-£80M mark….I am saying he will develop to that range keep in mined inflation is going up on prices not down. I would for sure say no to £35M

The concern is because we are now aiming to do that at the top level. And a bad transfer window for 80% of the PL is a potential relegation battle.

Naturally first season up without real depth and having not replicated what you suggest yet at this level people are naturally going to be a bit nervous about potential sales of top players.

It'll probably be harder to achieve what we've done before at the top level, for various reasons. Succession planning and spending more will likely have to happen more, which also means bigger gambles.
You need to believe more. We can do better with £70m for the squad as a whole than just Roefs. That’s the reality of the situation.

The club isn't in profit. It is in the position of needing to replace Sadiki.

Sunderland are financially solvent. Sunderland should not be selling any of their best players, otherwise we will never amount to much. This is Sunderland's big chance to progress. Sunderland didn't after 1964, 1973 or at the turn of the Millennium when England's second largest stadium was full every week. I don't care how much Chelsea or whoever offer.

Keep Roefs. Say no to £70 million. Although our recruitment has been exceptional, we might just be due to buy a couple of duds.

Probably sell Sadiki for 65m and sign Arthur Avom Ebong on a free
Sadiki for more than that, but I’d definitely hope we’re looking at Avom
Adam Wharton at this moment in time is a lot better than Sadiki though

He’s also English which means his value is massively inflated

Wharton plays a position which sadiki showed he can’t really play (yet) whilst xhaka was injured. Some of the comparisons on here for justifying how much we will charge etc are miles off like
Wharton is a completely different sort of player so it’s a really poor comparison

You do realize though that the reason our finances are so healthy is because of selling good players.
An intelligent strategy of which type of player to buy and when to sell is working and has allowed us to buy the current crop of premier league ready players.
We will sell other good players at some point and aim to be stronger because of it.

People overrating Sadiki here somewhat. He’s a good player and really energetic but the likes of enzo, caicedo and Wharton have him beat on just about every metric except dribbling.

In one sense I’m surprised there’s so much interest in the modern game seeing as all we hear about is stats. Statistically sadiki doesn’t stand out at all but he’s great example of a player where stats don’t tell the story.

He’s important to us though and whether we could replace him is a different matter altogether.

After that championship season with Steele, camp and ruiter (was that his name?!) I’m hoping we keep roefs most of all. Learned the hard way just how important a decent keeper is!
Think roefs will go when they think matty young is ready

How much is Sadiki worth people saying £65 plus million
£75+ I reckon
I’m not sure it is tbh, we don’t “need” to money wise the only way we will is if the player wants it and we get the price we want.

Wasn’t he at one of the clubs owned by the Chelsea group?. They can get fucked as the sell on we’ll be going back to them if so. Time to up it another 20%.
No, he wasn’t
The reactions on here are understandable none of us want Sadiki to go. Yes we’ll get a great fee but relaxing him will be tough and will cost a lot of money. And there’s also a bigger worry once one key player goes how many more will. I hope Xhaka when he came here got buy in from the club that we wouldn’t be selling Crown Jewels at the first opportunity without it being mind blowing money. I don’t think we will, Xhaka for one would be off if we sell off decent players he’s not going to spend the last couple of decent seasons of his career fighting relegation battles with us given how well this year has gone.
He’ll always have 6 points against your lot to remember us by
