Sadiki to Chelsea (internet chat)


If we are going to sell him I hope it is to them as they’ll pay far more than he’s worth

From his perspective I hope he enjoys sitting on the bench as currently he doesn’t get in their best 11

The hierarchy are savvy enough to know that players like Sadiki and Roefs are big reasons we've stayed up at a canter this season. So unless we want to struggle next season, we have to look to add to the squad depth and not sell the crown jewels for knock off prices.

Adam Wharton at this moment in time is a lot better than Sadiki though

He’s also English which means his value is massively inflated

Wharton plays a position which sadiki showed he can’t really play (yet) whilst xhaka was injured. Some of the comparisons on here for justifying how much we will charge etc are miles off like
 
I have a feeling the first team regulars will want to stick together to see where our ceiling is , once we’ve hit it though, that’s another thing.
 
I still think we’ll only sell one of our ‘crown jewels’ so if Chelsea or Man Utd offer massive money for either Sadiki or Roefs then as disappointing as it would be to lose either, the one big sale would probably be all we’d need to do.

Absolutely nothing to do with Europe. Chelsea can treble or even quadruple a players wage overnight and the players agent will be right in their ears.

We are gonna have to go with it and trust the recruitment team.

Money is obviously one motivation but I don’t think it’s the only one. If it was, everyone would have moved to Saudi. Sadiki is very young, with us he has essentially guaranteed football with people he seems to like. We need to progress quickly enough to be keep pace with the development of our players.

Some will of course leave - for money or a new challenge. We can’t keep players who don’t want to stay, and I agree with your point about trusting the recruitment team. But I also think they are more likely to stay if we are progressing.

Hopefully folks at the club and likes of Xhaka explain to him that if he stays another year he will have much better clubs making him offers than Chelsea. Don't dive at the chance of the first big pay offer.
