Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Is that the same Drummaville that didn't have a pot to piss in, and Quinny had to run about finding an investor before the club went under?....aye great plan you fool 😆

Also, if the clubs penny pinching, why have plenty of players signed new contracts?...does that suggest to you that the likes of Ballard and his agent were happy to be offered pennies whilst Premier League interest was apparent?
Aye, but other than that...

Drumaville were ok until the 2008 crash. Our main investors lost a lot of money. Same could happen to 99 percent of owners.

Can't remember 99% of the other clubs nearly going under in 2008, but our club going under with them was a reality.

Even if those were his demands - and they’re not, as no club at this level would pay him that and Southampton definitely wouldn’t, they’re not mugs:

50/wk over 5 years is about what, 13m?

How much is a transfer fee plus signing on fee plus wages over five years likely to cost, for a proper like for like replacement? Beating in kind the market value of an Ellis Simms these days? And by that I mean an ACTUAL replacement. Not an unheard of cheap foreigner and/or inexperienced bairn, paraded around as a replacement.

I'm going to go out on a wild guess and suggest you'd never heard of Ross Stewart prior to him signing for us either and if you were on here at the time would have wrote him off before he'd kicked a ball for us. It might be worth keeping your powder dry to see how any replacement does before going ballistic.

You have been banging this drum on and on since you signed up last summer. You have been critical of almost every single signing we have made in that time, have been highly critical of the club and their methods as a whole throughout, yet since Speakman and KLD came in we have been promoted from L1 and finished in the Championship playoffs last year despite any realistic football fan seeing that as nothing but completely overachieving.

I know you'll come back and say we are massive so should be winning the Championship with 100+ points and it doesn't matter about any other clubs or their financial status, but in the real world it doesn't work like that and the fans of 10 or more other clubs in this division will think the same every season.

Hoping for 10+ but i think the club will take 6-8 million personally.
I expect the deal will have a relatively low headline amount but be structured up to 7-8 million personally.

They're going to want some protection if his injury limits him

They’ve also lost £100m + in revenue and have had to get the earners out of the club. Yes they have money but won’t be spending big.
they got the revenue losses back by selling players for more than that amount...obviously thats only a short term fix if they dont get promoted but..

They're our best bet at getting decent cash for him if he is to go. Boro or Stoke won't be bidding anywhere near what Saints will
