Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Didn’t TM say the other week his brother works for Southampton and he’d told him RS isn’t on their radar? I know things change but you’d expect they’d be honest with each other.

We should be doing everything in a power to keep the best CF in the Championship

Sure, and if it's not within our power, if we can get proper money now then it would make sense, ill be sad to see the chap leave though.

Usually I'd agree but £10m is kinda fuck all to Southampton at the minute, especially if Martin has Stewart as his top target.

Southampton must have received close to £100m in transfer fees this summer. Then there is the parachute payments.

He may like him as a player. Completely different question if the board will agree being no prognosis on how he will return

Club wouldn't mind him going if it's good fee i suspect. Considering he will go for zilch in about 10 months.

Pay him the extra £5k per week he apparently wants over what has been offered and give him a two to three year contract. The lad will score goals in his return, his value will go up and we won’t lose him for nothing in the summer. The counter argument I keep hearing is he might not be the player he was… we can’t gamble with losing a fit scoring Ross Stewart for nothing next summer. The lad is a class act, how anyone would sell him this week when we are clueless in our ability to sign at least even a decent CF is beyond me.

This - they’ve taken at least £150M in transfer fees and only spent £12M, we need to hold them to ransom especially if he’s their number 1 target!

Absolutely this.
We need to deal as if we have a fully fit Ross Stewart on the pitch, which we might have in 3 or 4 weeks.

£20m should be the absolute minimum, if he stays and is fit, we can get promoted, no doubt in my mind about that.

He is one of the best strikers I’ve seen play for us. Why woukd we sell him ?
How would we replace him ?
With him fit we could be in the Premier League.
