Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

No team will bid for Stewart until he's proved his fitness. Might get minutes in OCT. Will have to be 100% and scoring before a bid comes in.Our first 2 home games BOTH bigger gates than Chelsea FFS ! Millions spent on trying to win things. SAFC haven't even got team strips to sell in the club shop.
It seems to me that you reckon our fans are pretty awesome in our current context and the potential is enormous. The other punter just wants an argument.

I’ve hit the ambivalent stage re Stewart now. Of course we need strikers in the club, but given where we are with him, and the uncertainty around how fragile he might be injury-wise (although I accept any player can get injured), I’d take anything north of 6 or 7 million for him now. With some disappointment, but as I say, I’m increasingly less bothered.

Wouldn't surprise me, if they get a bid on the region of 5m.
I think the club would snap their hands off for £5m given he has less than a year on his contract because of our own tight fisted stupidity.

Be hell on when he leaves and rightly so. Best striker we’ve had since Defoe.

No problem, Ru$$ell. Grease our palms with your lovely south coast lucre nice and early. We know you're minted so no pissing about with 7 figures.
FFS Has Clarke been sold yet? Other than Lihaj and Daijaku who have this board sold? More importantly why would any manager buy a player who had hardly played in the last season and has had two non contact injuries. I would sell him for 5 million as things stand, striker or no striker.

The club could be holding off to be fair, he's been a crock for the best part of a year and could come back from injury completely shot to pieces. It's just stupid to pay high wages that no doubt wants / deserves (if he stays fit) for someone to fill up the injury room.

I wouldn't be offering any big contract to him either tbh.

Absolutely this.
We need to deal as if we have a fully fit Ross Stewart on the pitch, which we might have in 3 or 4 weeks.

£20m should be the absolute minimum, if he stays and is fit, we can get promoted, no doubt in my mind about that.
It’s a gamble, whichever way we look at it. Judging from Mowbray’s comments yesterday, it looks increasingly unlikely that we will sign another striker. In that context, we have to keep Stewart - but will he be the same player on his return?

Can’t see anyone wanting to take a risk for decent money coming of an Achilles injury.

Would be ok with a decent a fee and it being reinvested but the fact we have failed to bring in a ready to play striker in 2 windows would put me right off selling.

As we are desperate for his goals and all round Center forward play.

I agree.

Let's say that £10m allows us to get Cannon and Rusyn under multi year contracts and breaking even, I would take that.

Alternatively, if we sell Stewart and we get nobody at all I'll be sick.
£10 million for Rusyn and Cannon is optimistic. Rusyn 4 and Canon 10 is what the asking valuations are

they arent stupid enough to bid money for ross stewart..

maybe stewart is asking for more than he deserves?
Maybe he is, maybe he isn’t.
What is too much for arguably the best striker in the league when fit ??

If what is being reported by most reports and socials and general opinion is accurate he’s asking for, let’s say for the purpose of your argument he’s been offered 25/30 grand elsewhere and we’ve offered 5 or 10 grand less than that. So say 20 grand a week at safc, or 25/30 elsewhere.

We’ve signed 2 young lads who won’t be here for less than 5 grand a week who might work out but might not.

I’d much rather come together with Stewart knowing he’s going to be a top player that the fans love and is a genuine game changer in this league.

Eh. If stewart had been for for our 4 games this season we would probably be looking at 4 wins.
We’ve dominated possession and created numerous attacking situations that have been wasted because of a lack of focal point.

hecertain;y isnt the best steiker in the league and he doesnt deserve to be the highest paid one..the lad leeds have just signed is far more valuable and proven at this level for example...stewart culd be very good..but he might not be..he has only a handful of games played at this level..and that was prior to the injury..
