Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Exactly mate, tells you a lot about the mindset of the club if he is allowed to leave on the cheap. A few grand extra per week and the lad stays, scores goals and helps us achieve our aims for this season.
Even an extra £20k a week is only £1m for this year, then his value increases to the £25-30m mark. Surely you’d spend £1m to make an extra £17m?

You have no idea what I have any idea about, yet let your mouth get carried away.

We’ve offered 15k, which is our limit, as per many sources, and he wants 20k. It’s pathetic and an utterly incompetent way to lose your best player and to run a football club.

Don’t worry though we can play Bellingham up front all season cos he scored 2 goals that one time
That’s also pure speculation mind on your part.

No one knows what has gone on with contract negotiations apart from Stewart, his agent & Speakman.

Anyone else suggesting we’ve offered 20k or offered 15k is guessing.

People talk some utter shite on here. Stewart is great when fit but £40m man, have a word with yourselves man. Also worth noting we have made him an offer to be the highest earner in line with the rest of the improved contracts signed this summer. He wants a decent amount more than our structure so club can't win.

What sources? This is now the 4th time I've asked and you're stalling.

You don't have a clue man. Look at any of your posts that contain financial, it's all massively wrong.

Laughable man. Go for a walk.
There’s plenty out there go look around for a bit sure you’ll find something

Nah mate. He knows, sources has proved it.

He can't reveal them or prove it though.

Verbal diarrhoea.

Again that is just plain wrong. Both he and Mowbray are quoted citing similar things

Losing a £40m player over a 250k a year salary increase is the very definition of unambitious

Yep, and been £100m better off
there isnt enough smack in the world to make ross stewart a £40mn player..he is 27, with a big injury behind him and largely unproven in the championship...piroe is the championships best ofrwrad roght now and he went fior £20mn and is younger than stewart..

So that's none then and you're full of shit as everybody knows.

Piroe went for £10-12m

Anyone with investments could lose a lot of their fortune, this would then effect what they have left to spend.

They were going under mate. I'm not talking about anyone else. It was the reality of the situation the club were in.

if only it were that simple..
the championship is multiple markets..with one artifica; one created by parachute money
Agreed. Changes may be on the way.

The top flight is reportedly willing to reform parachute payments but does not think they should be abolished.

Though it can be argued that those who drop into the second tier should get some form of protection, it risks distorting competition and encouraging financial gambles. Indeed, Championship clubs’ for a fifth consecutive season in 2021/22 and average operational losses .

Where did Mowbray say we offered 15k a week? That’s where I’m confused.

You said previously that Mowbray said we’ve offered the maximum we can, but that could be 20k for all we know?

Again, it’s all guesswork - no point criticising the club over it.

Imagine thinking Piroe is better than Stewart man.

Gyokeres just went for £25m, Stewart could easily be worth that - and then more when you get him off the last year of his contract, Ala the Gyokeres situation. Just because Swansea sold low doesn’t Mean we have to

Absolute joke if we don’t offer him £20k a week. Absolute pittance for a striker of his calibre and if that’s all he wants and we sell for £8m then this club has gone to the pits and there is no ambition whatsoever left here.

Would be right up there with the worst decisions the clubs ever made to lose a potential £40m player for that

Who said we hadn't, steve  ?

Second he started scoring those championship goals his wage bracket left ours.
