Rush: Fifty Something Tour

She certainly fit well behind that kit. Geddy was reaching a bit for those high notes mind.
Geddy`s voice is my only concern. I am 100% sure Anika will do a great job behind the kit. I always thought if Alex and Geddy did do something together, whether as Rush or something else, that they should go out as a 5-piece with a keyboard player (which they are doing) and a supplemental vocalist to help Geddy - a bit like Coverdale did on the last Whitesnake tour with Dino Jelusick double tracking his voice alongside some decent backing singers.

I think when you're there, in the moment, it'll be fine.

Footage will always sound a bit ropey played back, back a couple of beers and the atmosphere tends to smooth things over.

Unless they're really really bad like.

I think you`re right. When you`re there in the moment with the atmosphere and everything it`s always loads better that watching a video of the performance. I remember seeing Rainbow when they played a few shows before Covid and was in the block right in front of Blackmore. During Stargazer and Catch The Rainbow, I was in awe at the majesty of the music and its power. Yet, when I listened to the live album it seemed a little disjointed and weak.

Wish I'd caught that tour.

I assume we’ve seen the footage of Finding My Way from the Juno awards last night? Sounded great to me, Geddy certainly ain’t 20 years old anymore but one of the hardest songs he could’ve picked for himself to sing and without tuning down he does a pretty fair job I think. He will nail the stuff from around Moving Pictures etc. he’s working with a vocal coach apparently. Anika was spot on, she’s gonna nail it too. Alex the highlight, his guitar playing was sublime. Not sure how true it is but I’ve read a few times that Finding My Way is apparently the first song they ever did live with Neil too. Probably not coincidence

Did you clock the Greeny?

I totally understand that. You either love them or you hate them. There seems to be no half measures. I for one, bloody love them and always have.
I’m going to take another line.

I loved them up to and including Moving Pictures. The prevalence of keys in their music allied to Alex feeling lost meant my love for the band waned.

I’ve seen them a few times and loved everyone. But not bothered about this tour.

But I hope everyone who gets to see a show has a blast.

First setlist is absolutely fantastic. The few videos I’ve seen sound great too. Hoping for that set in Manchester. I normally avoid set spoilers but it’s ages till we get them and they’re gonna change it so wanted to look

I loved them from the start. I’ve said this before but I’m saying it again.

Up to and including Moving Pictures. Then my musical tastes moved. I bought Clockwork something but for me the moment had gone.

I’ve seen them a couple of times and got the T-Shirt, literally.
