Running Thread 2026

Take your time. Don't compare yourself to before and parkrun is fab 😀.
Oh and obviously you'll need at least one pair of new trainers if not more 🤣. Good luck.
I’ve got a shed full of rejects (and a barely worn pair of Saucony Triumphs responsible for my current situation)

I’ve got to be careful with these unstable squishy things they have now.

A few lads and lasses i know have gone up to do the Edinburgh Marathon Festival this weekend, anyone doing that one?

I did it, and it was brutal. My previous three marathons have all been over 20 degrees, but with this one being coastal there was no shade whatsoever. Also there wasn't near enough water stations, luckily the good old Scottish crowd came to the rescue when I needed it.
Does anyone on here use the Garmin Forerunner??? I use the GarminVivoActive 3 at the moment but looking to upgrade and only really do running now so any recommendations

I use a Garmin Forerunner 965 and love it. Very good GPS, long battery life, easy pairing with devices such as hr monitors, and accurate vo2 max against my lab results. The 965 is pricey, but anything from the 265 upwards will be decent for running specific.

Yeah but it’s been a few years since I took notice and i think the GNR may even take a lot more notice of numbers being sold . A lot of people defer their numbers but i bet loads still look to sell and get some money back

Got another giveaway for the lucky runners of RTG if anyone is interested, my number for Windermere Marathon Sunday 14th June is up for grabs, I paid for the Large shirt too so you'll get that at finish also haha.

Emailed them saying I wouldn't be able to make it but it must've been after they started posting race packs out, just arrived today.

It's currently sitting there teasing me, like Green Goblin's helmet with Willem Dafoe in Spiderman 😅

I'm confident I'd be able to get round if I attempted it but it would no doubt set my knee recovery way back haha. So hopefully someone can take it from me to remove the temptation 😅
