I think it'll be Keane tbh. If we wanted to go for cheap option surely we'd have appointed it earlier instead of stressing fans out and getting it sorted
The problem with Keane is if we don't go up, fans won't want him sacked. Speakmans plans up in arms

Nobody does but if no appointment till next week we have literally written off three games.

I have defended the Club many times but this a fking shambles and there is no way you can put a gloss on it.
That's in hindsight.
I think everyone would have expected us to beat Doncaster at home no matter who was in charge.
And like I said, it's not logical or rational to expect a new manager put in in less than a week

So just to confirm - neither of us can think of a single example of a club our size (or any size) putting someone without any experience of senior football whatsoever in charge of their entire football operation.
When Dan Ashworth got the Sporting Director job at WBA his experience was of the same level as Speakman’s.

I just don't see how it can be Keane if its a vague "until the end of the season then a chat" contract (as a lot of the press seem to be suggesting). We've pretty much blown automatics and if Keane came in, didn't get us up and the club got rid to appoint a more "head coach" type it would be looked (fairly or not) as a failure. Not sure what job he could hope to get after that. Don't see why he'd risk it to work for people who obviously mustn't have much faith in him. Hopefully they're finalising an 18 month deal as we type, starting to think we badly need a genuinely experienced football person in a role at the club, and since theres bugger all others it has to be the manager

Thank fuck somebody gets it
