Not for me either way. Sacked Johnson with no replacement. Signed a 39 year old Defoe to appease fans. Put his mate in charge and likely will cost us 6 points in two games. Has Roy Keane on a a plate. We all know deep down he will mess this up and appoint McCann or Neil.
Alex Neil would be a decent appointment at this level like. Wouldnt get the pulses racing like Keane would but he's got a decent record. Think he's a canny coach myself. Of all the ones we're linked to he'd be top of the list (if you take the emotion out of the Keane link)

Just listened to Dodds post match interview, what does he mean "just devastated for the players".......he said it 3 times anarl.
Devastated for the players? Why? They were shit and got what they deserved. Had we been playing a better team it would have been a proper howking. They were out thought out fought and didn’t give enough of a shite to do anything about it. Why make excuses for them? Honestly Man. Sunderland, it’s like platitude central. Have they all been on a how to speak bullshit course.

I agree, the whole idea of the structure is to have plans in place so a manager comes and goes and the players for the system are in place and it's a smooth transition. It's pure negligence not to have people in mind or lined up especially give the comment that it wasn't just the Bolton game why Johnson got sacked, it was an accumulation of things. If so then they should have been well down the road in planning.
And have a list of head coaches that fit the long term plan/playing structure. Keane won’t get a tune out of these lot. About half the squad are under 23 and under 5 foot 10. That’s not his bag, he just signs ex man United/republic of Ireland players.

Well unless you are calling RK a liar because he told Gary Neville that he had an interview at his house from a championship club.He isnt in the position of the other drips waiting for Universal Credit to be bumped up,its us he wants to manage and has said so loads since he left.
How do you know Neil hasn't had interviews ?

I don’t disagree. But I would rather go with our tried and trusted option in Keane who is clearly desperate for the job. Especially after KLD was cock teasing last week. The whole thing is a mess.

Aye it's looking like a truly masterful plan/structure/philosophy/process/[insert bullshit buzzword here]. The philosophy of building a team around kids with no meaningful experience of first team football, and then acting amazed when they crumble under any sort of pressure. The philosophy of sacking a manager the day before transfer deadline day, and then leaving the club with only two fit senior centre halves.

We definitely need to protect the plan, at all costs. After all, it was drawn up by someone who ran youth teams for a Championship club. Those people don't grow on trees.

I get that, I just hope that if it doesnt come off and we did appoint Keane, people would still recognise him as a very good appointment for this level. I think whoever gets it is on a hiding to nothing if they arent Keane.

IF it’s been agreed a while ago and Kyril is the one who had it all agreed, if I were Kyril I’d be straight on the phone to Speakman and say ‘get it announced before the day is through or I’ll issue you with a P45.’
Your management style is even worse than Roy Keanes.

Looking at their records in management Neil has the better record and took Norwich up in similar circumstances to us now. His style of football is perfect for us. However, now that Keane is so strongly linked it is very alluring despite the potential pitfalls. I'd be happy with either.

I get the impression Speakman was under the impression it comes across as git competent if they take their time. Due dilligence and processes etc. I found it curious on Friday night, Barnes announced there will be no further movement or appointment until Monday at the earliest. So, had they given themselves the weekend off? Had Keane asked for a weekend to mull it over? How was the weekend just written off as having no movement so far in advance? The longer this drags on the more of a circus it becomes. And now theres talk of a second round of interviews? To quote Keane, do me a favour!

He made a few runs that I couldnt help think if we had the Dan Neil from the start of the season playing he'll score a bundle off his through passes
Neil needs a rest.

Everyone just needs to be calm. It's probably true that were fighting for play-offs, so we just need to get the squad raring and ready for them. If a shot at automatic falls back to us like it did last year, great, but price it out. Game by game.

Have to think, if squad is managed well and fit, we have a great shot at play-offs as long as we don't have a bottle job in the dugout. The big picture is we removed one last week, so things are looking up imo.

Sorry to be all glass half full, but they are.

(The one cloud for me is the ludicrous decision to sell Flanagan. Genuinely worth pelting Speakman for that).

It may get so bad we need a lap of honour and team photo when we win to boost the fragile poppets
