Over recent seasons 90 points is about the average that 2nd place has finished on, sometimes higher, sometimes as low as mid 80s.

To get 90 points we need 36 points from 16 games, so one of: 12 wins, 11 wins and 3 draws or 10 wins and 6 draws.

If this was a month ago I'd have felt some optimism, but I feel like we're declining and particularly our defending is abysmal.

12 wins out of 16 when we're 19th in the form table based on the last 6 games.

Not happening.

I think Wigan will last the course, but still have my doubts about Rotherham. They will have a sticky patch, and we could get on another roll. You never know mate.
Georgewhitt... Specialist subject...Eternal optomism
I think Rotherham are more solid than Wigan, who I suspect continue to spill points over the next few games, but probably arrest that after the tough run ends. We are our own bigegst problem with a lack of consistency and missing opportunity after opportunity. It would take a winning streak to then look at it again, but right now I'd take 6th. Just don't fancy us away from home anywhere at the moment.

I'm very confident of going up via the playoffs (if it comes to that), still haven't given up on the automatics.

If we have everyone FIT and and a reasonable manager in....the playoffs will be a piece of piss 😃
So what;s the team if everyone's fit? Can I see this magic Sunderland Globetrotter team?

To finish on less than 90 points Rotherham or Wigan would need to have a massive drop off as well. They only need to average 1.65 points per game to get it. if they both maintain current form we would need to get 2.75 points per game to get level.

Let it go mate even with Roy it's play offs at best. Our players seem confused at best.
Going to take a hell of a push to get these playing as a team mentally and physically.
Glass half full, but the new manager coming in should give everybody a fresh start. I’m going to expect the new person (Keane) will tell each individual what try expect from them. Keane’s always talked about a simple approach, what the fuck was going on on Saturday formation wise is anybody a guess.
Saudi bot
That’s a mucky vhs that

Strange that the itk prehab and wheaty over the road have said nothing more since the match yesterday....laying low sadly!............and no comment about the Speakman interview that made either speaky or the itk's look like tools!
Eh? Prehab said yesterday morning that it was still going ahead and that Speakman’s interview was nonsense. @rubberface said on here yesterday that he too was convinced that the deal was done. Another poster sent a PM to someone on here who also replied saying the deal was done.
