Gonna be all week isn't It?
If this is true, whoever at the club is 'not going to be rushed' should be out of a job.

We might not make the play offs ffs. We have just been humped 6-0 with 6,000 travelling fans in tow and beaten off the the team bottom of the league in front of nigh on 40,000 people in Div 3.

If this isnt an urgent situation I really dont know what is.

If it is Speakmen holding things up we should be asking some pretty important questions about his ability and whether he is up to the job. Second interview ffs.

We are a shambles.

I can see what you are saying to a point. I would say a number of factors. We have to be honest Klopp and Pep arent available at the moment.

Out of interest who do you want?
I think Neil and McCann are more likely to get it done for us than Roy but I appreciate they have no sentimental value to us and as Roberto Mancini said "Sunderland is an emotional club"

But would he ? At the end of the day who makes the decision ? His opinion will carry a lot of weight and if he doesn’t want Keane he could make the appointment unlikely IMO.
Look none of us know wtf is going on ( as usual) Keanes demands may be unacceptable so Speakman is interviewing others, who knows ?
For all we know this whole Keane malarkey might never have been a runner, hope I’m wrong about that but with our club anything can happen.
No he wouldn’t -tongue in cheek mate

FFS.

We all know it's going to be him. He can't afford to appoint anyone other than him right now unless it's someone ridiculous. Taking his time on f***ing purpose to pretend to look like he's doing things thoroughly the f***ing cock.
Thing is, no we don't.

The DoF is simply (in my view) putting a cautious statement out to give / attempt to give a sign of diligence - I'm not defending Speakman/siding with him in any way or form, I'm just not wanting to jump to conclusions.

It's a pity the owner didn't show the same restraint before liking posts about Keane joining last week.

The equivalent of blowing his load before his lass has even unbuckled his belt.

I doubt he’ll be here before Tuesday’s game, and with automatic promotion being over now I suppose it doesn’t really matter if Speakman wants to take another week for some reason. Disappointing how poorly they’ve handled it though.

This, this and thrice this. Johnson would probably have got us play offs. The whole point in getting rid is because we weren't happy settling for that. So if we then take ages over the appointment and see two games go by (at least one of which we lost) before the new person even starts working with the players then it defeats the whole purpose. Whoever it is needs time, even Keane the first time didn't immediately have us in title winning form. There should be one interview with a few candidates, who they should have been able to identify prior to sacking Johnson, then quickly move to appoint one, not scratching about the week after. Just get Keane in and get it announced ffs

100% this

I’m genuinely perplexed with what’s going on. They are acting like it’s the summer and just taking their time. Surely Johnson was a better bet to manage the Doncaster and Cheltenham games than Mike Dodds? If we had no clue to appoint

Oh but I can, my mate like loads on here now know what kind of poster you are.
Altering someone else's post is the lowest, so grovel all you want, but now we know you have zero credibility on here, your a joke.
Bet you ham shank over me.
This is getting weird Bob. Really weird.

I’ve never made up info like you do for attention, so who’s more pathetic?

Ps it’s you’re.

From the same paper who said last week we hadn’t even approached keane
He's clueless man.

There is no collective reporting between the outlets on the position and it's been that case all week.

Many are just raking in the clicks and likes because it's Roy Keane.

Just my opinion anyway..

I agree

He needs to be announced in the morning

People will say it’s only been a week but I very naively thought they’d have someone lined up. That’s the point of speakman
yes indeed..i didnt think they would have someone lined up..thats not smart..but i thought they would have a short list of three definitely availabel people they could call..

Do you think it's logical going for fellas who've already proven not good enough for smaller clubs than us at the level we're trying to get to? Because those appear to be the alternatives.
Can't see I'm excited about Neil or McCann but I can see a case for them and the case for Roy is sentiment and wishful thinking.

I said it before, and I'll say it again:

Sacking the manager and only then commencing the process to find his successor is being labelled as keeping our integrity, but what it really is, is naivety in the extreme.

Look at WBA for example. Sacked their manager and had Bruce in about 20 minutes later, because they did what every other club in world football does and had their current manager's successor ready to go.

I'm sure having our "integrity" will go down well with our fans during the playoffs, or make us feel better about getting pumped by bottom of League One Doncaster FFS.

Then you have the owner liking posts about Keane getting the job earlier in the week, which automatically means if for any reason he doesn't take the job, they have whoever the next manager is pissing against the wind from day one.

I like a lot of what the decision-makers have done to-date, but their handling of this whole episode has been shambolic.
So far our integrity and doing the right thing has seen us :
- play games that we should have cancelled due to injuries; every one else was taking advantage of the Covid situation but we decided to have integrity and lose points
- not sound a manager out while Johnson was in post, meaning the quick appointment we need to rescue the season is likely to drag on
- decide to be nice to Flanagan and let him move for a longer contract, which now leaves us massively short at centre back

I really hope it's Keane because I'm very near to saying fuck integrity, I want someone here who wants to win at all costs. We'll get absolutely nowt for doing the right thing, integrity isn't going to mean a hell of a lot if we're in this league yet again next season

Everything that the club have done over the last month or so both in terms of our transfer business and the whole management debacle screams out that we're still an absolute basket case. Those clownshoes running the show are in for one hell of a shock if they think we'll be averaging anywhere near 30k when we're stuck in this league for a 5th consecutive season.
