Roy Keane

So far we’ve had professional journalists saying it’s an ongoing process for days and thats been backed up by DoF talking about process, shortlisting, taking time and fact finding.

We’ve had ITKs saying ‘it’s done’ for days. Since then, Sunderland have lost to Doncaster without a manager and Roy Keane has been working elsewhere.

Most of the ITKs are clueless

Journalists have collectively failed to report anything this week with accuracy or relevant to the previous 24 hour time period all week.

The DoF is simply (in my view) putting a cautious statement out to give / attempt to give a sign of diligence - I'm not defending Speakman/siding with him in any way or form, I'm just not wanting to jump to conclusions.

RK on ITV Friday and today; I refuse to believe it would have been teased like that if it wasn't in an advanced shape.

My view anyway....I may be incorrect but hey ho...

I agree

He needs to be announced in the morning

People will say it’s only been a week but I very naively thought they’d have someone lined up. That’s the point of speakman

U23's haven't had a manager appointed since Dickman left nearly 3 months ago so I'm not surprised we haven't had anything lined up for first team.

Gonna be all week isn't It?

I said it before, and I'll say it again:

Sacking the manager and only then commencing the process to find his successor is being labelled as keeping our integrity, but what it really is, is naivety in the extreme.

Look at WBA for example. Sacked their manager and had Bruce in about 20 minutes later, because they did what every other club in world football does and had their current manager's successor ready to go.

I'm sure having our "integrity" will go down well with our fans during the playoffs, or make us feel better about getting pumped by bottom of League One Doncaster FFS.

Then you have the owner liking posts about Keane getting the job earlier in the week, which automatically means if for any reason he doesn't take the job, they have whoever the next manager is pissing against the wind from day one.

I like a lot of what the decision-makers have done to-date, but their handling of this whole episode has been shambolic.

I need to stop reading this stuff and log off it’s getting me wound up

Aye take your time lads. Not like our season is slipping away in front of our eyes

Also you're right Iqdon't think any of the journos have got anything right either till the deals pretty much completed. Wilson last Sunday said Johnson's ready for deadline day. And within the hour got sacked

I'm basically hoping we stay in the playoffs now rather than top 2. Shambles like

Aye we play again in 48 hours

Unless he takes training tomorrow that’s another game wasted

Then only 15 games left

If they didn’t want someone to have an immediate short term impact then just fuckin keep Johnson

I’m usually patient but been so So poor this
This, this and thrice this. Johnson would probably have got us play offs. The whole point in getting rid is because we weren't happy settling for that. So if we then take ages over the appointment and see two games go by (at least one of which we lost) before the new person even starts working with the players then it defeats the whole purpose. Whoever it is needs time, even Keane the first time didn't immediately have us in title winning form. There should be one interview with a few candidates, who they should have been able to identify prior to sacking Johnson, then quickly move to appoint one, not scratching about the week after. Just get Keane in and get it announced ffs

There are no odds available at all on Oddschecker for the next Sunderland manager, so the bookies must be convinced this is going to happen.🤞

He resigns?!!!
But would he ? At the end of the day who makes the decision ? His opinion will carry a lot of weight and if he doesn’t want Keane he could make the appointment unlikely IMO.
Look none of us know wtf is going on ( as usual) Keanes demands may be unacceptable so Speakman is interviewing others, who knows ?
For all we know this whole Keane malarkey might never have been a runner, hope I’m wrong about that but with our club anything can happen.

What happens when Bruce cocks up

aye I hadn’t realized until last night the playoff situation like.

Its going to be battle unless we improve quickly

We’ve done some good as a club this season but it feels like we are right on the edge here and unless we get this sorted soon , things could get very messy very quickly
