Watching Roy's interview with Gary Neville it's obvious he's family first . The biggest negotiation might be with their lass who might not want " Roy on a mission " back .
From his point of view I suspect he's well aware that if he goes back in and fails his cred is blown and his punditry will have lost its appeal , hard road back.
Against all that he still wants to be a Shankly or a Busby or Clough and he knows this is his place ...if. If the club's commited to him and his success which may not be immediate from this position
Good luck with it either way Roy .

Speakman himself
Nah, it’s a better choice to go for someone who has actually been on a training ground at some point in the last few years. But at the end of the day, proctor and Dodds aren’t even permanent u23 heads. They’re filling in at that level. None of the choices are palatable really.

Keane has said he wants back into management so don't think his missus is going to beva factor. His kids ate up now. We need him like never before

I agree but Speakman putting his head on the chopping block and coming through would have earned him some more respect from me. Sure he’s got his coaching badges.

If speakman was being honest about just drawing up a short list now then it's staggeringly incompetent a week after the sacking, especially when like you say there isn't a decent choice at the club to step in. In fact, I'm thinking I'd rather we werent doing the "right thing" by not speaking to people while Johnson was still here. We should have been sounding people out so we could move quickly when he was sacked. We were also doing the right thing by playing on when others were taking the chance to have games postponed. Think we need the manager to have a nasty, ruthless streak because it's something we seem to be lacking elsewhere

It wasn’t a smart interview.
