I honestly see Keane looking at Speakman and thinking “I can’t work with that prick. He’s everything that’s wrong with modern football”

Blokes a walking thesaurus

He said in his last interview they were already looking at candidates “just in case as any business does” now they are “drawing up their shortlist”

Shambles
I’ve posted on the match thread that in my very humble opinion it can only be the “Speakman Way” or the “Keane Way”. It cannot be both.
As I said there, I’m only a very sporadic witness to on-the-field performances, but if this group (notice I didn’t use the word “team”) are typical of the brittle bairns that Speakman likes then Mr Keane would be well advised to stay well clear.

Right oh not getting into a argument over betting. I know people who have a football bet every week that's their choice. I have the occasional bet now and then
It's no worse than alcohol - both can destroy lives when taken to excess, or both can be enjoyable in moderation. Both are pretty inextricable from the culture of football.

What a strange comparison, coke is illegal betting isn't . Strange thing to rant about after a terrible football performance

Betting should be illegal. Murkiest shite going designed to ruin people. Money from betting companies is more important though. Clearly.

Performance is irrelevant as I've been talking about it for years.

Bit like the mags talking about integrity and worshipping murderers.

Speakman can fuck right off for me in many ways, it might seem trivial but his orders were 15 outside security in the car park to let these f***ing so called footballers get to their cars safely without signing autos or pictures for freezing kids after the match. We are a third division club with premiership supporters

My opinion is they sacked him for Defoe and had no idea what to do thereafter. Hence why we’ve ended up losing two defenders on deadline day and no new ones coming in.
Possibly, but I feel that it was more to do with the directors/owner losing faith in Johnson and the six nowt was the final straw.

If that is the case then to not have at least a short list of potential replacements lined up is pretty amateurish.

The alternative is that his sacking was a knee jerk reaction to the drubbing and if so then that in itself is a very questionable move.

It seems obvious to me that when you sack a football manager it instantly destabilises the whole club.

Competent directors will keep that instability to a minimum.

I haven't heard the interview but if the term 'business integrity' was used as an explanation for the delay in appointing a successor, then I'm afraid that sounds to me like deflection from their unpreparedness.

Right oh, that's you' re opinion, I'm sure millions who bet for a bit of fun would disagree. Each to their own

If it’s not him then the atmosphere will fall off a Cliff following that drivel today.

Yet another Johnson chosen by the spreadsheet boys won’t suffice at all

Anybody but Keane now and that's the season for some supporters around me. They'll still go and support the lads but in terms of ambition it's a case of 'well we'll take our chances in the play offs again and we know what we're like"

Shame this weekend had been built up to be basically the rocket start we needed with JD and RK and it's starting to turn out to be a bit of a damp squid.

Im sure they would. I bet (snigger) they habe all won more money from bookies than they have lost as well.

Lambert and Butler would be a canny childrens stand sponsor. Bet all the smokers agree.
