I think he wants it, otherwise it's a flat no. TV audience or not, he wouldn't dodge the question if it's a no.
fair enough he wants some tweeks in the contract, but I suspect he's just being cheeky, a lil but. He may want to bring 4/5 staff for all we know.
As for the DOF, can't see that being a problem either as he admits he got transfers badly wrong at Ipswich and so-so at SAFC. I would hope he would welcome that side of things being served to him on a platter. "Would you care for this player Roy?"

Also the whole DOF thing in modern football makes him utterly unemployable if he refuses to work under it. Most teams use that system now. This is his only and last chance to get back into management.

I was gutted when he left first time. Genuinely thought he’d make us a top 6 team and then go on to Man U after fergie. Thanks to his punditry he’s still one of the biggest names in world football.

Bizarrely despite the talk of DOF and a potential issue with it, I think it’ll allow him to purely work with the players, not have the risk of bringing wrong characters and he can just concentrate on what really matters.

Latley its been the.managers fault for the results if.Keane is appointed the blame will.lie at the players feet.so they must step up or be abused .....thats they way i see it happening hope it works because imo players have ruled the roost at safc for.sometime

I think we have an honest bunch of players therefore I think your post is nonsense. Nee offence like

Just looking to see what Tony Loughlan is up to these days.

Looks like he was with Burnley for a while (having also worked for Dyche at Watford).

He left Burnley in the summer to have a hip operation. Looks like he’s out of work whilst rehab from the surgery.

'Let's see how things shape up over the next few days' immediately after talking about the importance of negotiating the right contract seems to confirm that a) he's already in contract discussions, and b) he's in no hurry and not expecting those discussions to conclude till probably next week.

As others have said, barring a major disagreement about terms, it's looking hugely positive! 😎

FWIW I share your view. In fact I'd take it a little further, he used Short's abrupt manner as an excuse to flee the mess he'd made, for possibly the first time in his life he was staring at a potential failure of his own making and he couldn't deal with it. I'm hoping he has accepted the fact that he's human, that he has flaws and we'll get to see a more rounded wiser individual in our dug out. He's an intelligent man, a winner, the potential benefits could be immense for us. Fingers crossed here.
I just don’t think it’s wrong to raise some concerns we might have. That doesn’t mean we want him to be a failure why would anyone want that.
I liked being accused of being a Mag best of all 🤣🤣

It’s fine to have concerns but given the other candidates he’s the best bet by far.

I guess he wants a fair wedge if he’s gonna walk away from a cush role at Sky

keano not even signed yet ( though signs are looking good ) but he’s given the whole area a boost just by being linked

noone else would’ve been able to do that
It surely sends a clear message to the owner, all we need is a spark of excitement and the place takes off.

I'd give him it and more but based on results , same as the players , win bonuses , clean sheets , goals , trophys and promotions .
Deal is " Roy you'll be on shit loads here ...if ...if you deliver. If not all you can expect is league one money cos that's what you'll be worth ..fair ? "
