Keane was always creative in the ways he could motivate the players using different things to get an impact - ranging from walking in to saying 'youre shite wont lie youll lose this just try to enjoy it' and walking out to telling Anton Ferdinand 'no surprises there youve got no bollocks' etc. He loves playing for reactions. And on top of that hed consider every detail from colour schemes to away dressing room. He will definitely consider sitting in the stands as a menacing presence as a motivational tool.
It's true, the club requires a big character sailing the ship. Grayson and Parkinson in particular were such awful appointments it's actually shocking that someone (Donald) interviewed them and thought yeah that'll do. Personalities wetter than a wet thing.

Reality is Both parties would be mad to turn it down
Certain managers fit certain clubs and vice Versa, Quinny knew that back then and by reading keanes book he knew it also
Sunderland needs a strong personality to get it going and thrive under the challenges it provides
The likes of Ross, Parkinson Grayson and the Mcanns that have been linked it will never and doesn’t work
Get it done

Yes lad! You know it makes sense

It's managers with strong personalities who have thrived here over the last 40 years. Smith, Reid, Keane and BSA.

They fit right in, tap into everything we are about as a city and region.

Not afraid to make bold decisions and enforce the highest standards here.
McCarthy too. Inherited a terrible situation but did well under the circumstances. Possibly the toughest of the lot, but a lovely man
