I'll be honest, both of them saying "everything's got to be right" makes me think it's not nailed on.

It's not like they hadn't been talking about it before they went live.... and Wrighty didn't exactly make it sound like it was a done deal IMO.

Mate haway, I don’t know how it could be anymore obvious have some optimism.

Look at the facts, he’s just smirked clear as day on life television, while taking as if to say I don’t even believe the words I’m saying. Was so obvious by that smirk that he knows he’s coming back.

Add to that sky playing montages, Kyril liking tweets, weighty joking about him going, bookies completely suspending the market, ya can’t get a bet anywhere for Keane to join us.

There’s also the small matter of ITV releasing a tweet within seconds of it happening, as they’ve clearly been given licence.

Not being a twat as I know as a fan of Sunderland we get kicked in the teeth over and over again, but people are honestly seeing a negative when it’s not there this time.

If Roy Keane isn’t Sunderland Manager, I’ll be astounded. It’s about as nailed on as anything could be.

Roy is particularly happy tonight “ it’s amazing what this game does to you “!
Haway the Lads

Agree , bit to do yet but it's the last bit of horse trading before the spit handshake I think
Yeah, probably. It's just playing the game which I understand everyone has to do.

I'd just love to see him parading out on the pitch before kick off and the foundations shaking... but it doesn't look like we're at that stage yet.

In the Guardian:

Roy Keane is on punditry duty for ITV tonight, and it’s not long before he’s asked about the rumours linking him to the vacant Sunderland job. “I’ve got no control over that, so no comment,” he dryly quips, a flicker of a smile playing around the corners of his mouth. “The club has to want you, you have to want to go to that club, and the contract has to be right. So we’ll see how things take shape over the next few days.” A full smile now, plus a twinkle in the eye. Make of that what you will.”

Love how people spin things “pougatch said you’ve been there today”

He didn’t he said “lots of speculation you’ve been there today”

Most importantly contract has to be right, so he wants the cash more than the job.
Exactly. It was a statement, not a question. Wright blew any pretence. It's done. The "contract has to be right" shit is just deflection.

Can poured, whiskey flowing, cock out...

Complaining about people spinning things, then coming out with pure speculation!

Kind of glad it hasn’t been announced, I was getting carried away earlier thinking that if he was today, along with defoes homecoming, I was fully prepared to drive the 760 miles to get up and down for it… I’ll rest easy tonight 🤣
