I do like a lot of what we're doing (e.g. recruitment), but this has been managed poorly IMO.

From the owner liking posts about Keane, to clearly being miles off the pace when appointing a successor.

Starting the recruitment process after sacking the manager might be the "right" thing to do as per Speakman, but it is naive in the extreme.

IMO Keane (if he is their first choice) should have been sounded out and then been ready to go a day or two after Johnson was sacked.

The fact that numerous places report that Grant McCann, probably the laziest appointment that could be made, is second choice if Keane turns it down suggests not a lot of thought has really gone into it.
To he fair other than a load of rumours we haven't got a clue who has or hasn't been interviewed

Guess nobody saw a 6 nowt hammering coming tho.
Speakman said that our shocking results earlier in the season were part of the reason Johnson was sacked. They might not have seen it coming v Bolton but they knew it was on the cards and still they didn’t prepare for him going.

They go on about succession planning - there seems to have been none here when the whole point of their “philosophy” is that it’s meant to be easier for someone new to take over. West Brom sacked their manager on Wednesday and their new boss is in charge today. It’ll have taken us over a week at best if it isn’t announced until Monday and even then what impact could anyone have before Tuesdays game?

I’m choosing to believe he will have accepted it. Fulfil his obligations with ITV tonight. Announced tomorrow and in the stands for the purest of scenes
Hope so.. nice lunchtime announcement, queue young'uns tossing their pints all owa in the town.

Apparently, all the interviews are finished. So, are we waiting for Roy to make a decision on us, or the other way round. Or! Have we went another direction?
I think there is a lot going on, with the game tonight and preparations for our game and they don't want to cause a distraction, so an announcement will be after the game is over, probably Sunday. A guess only.
Sensible post mate

Especially when Keane and McCann have practically nothing in common. If their first choices were between two young coaches, or two experienced managers, or between say Roy Keane and Duncan Ferguson, I could understand it.

It does just smack of going for whoever is available.
Everton we’re down to the experienced Portuguese fella the fans didn’t want and… Frank Lampard

They might have had a plan

Then Keane made it known he was interested ? And everything changes

Course they have. But itks saying its done and announced tonight etc
The one thing we know about Keane is he does what he thinks is best for him, again that’s not a criticism, I don’t blame him at all, especially when he’s in a position to be able to do that.

If they approached him and he didn’t tell them to f**k off I think that’s a positive, hence the interview in Manchester reported today.

To get to the interviewing stage suggests he’s interested but, I can’t help wondering whether he was the interviewee or the interviewer.
