I doubt this is done, because if it was surely they’d be announcing it today the day before a game.
More ticket sales, introduced before the kick off tomorrow to really ignite the place.
Nah, there’s nowt there yet.

Programme already printed and is devoted to JD.

Nothing presumably about Keane.

We won't hear anything until Sunday/Monday now I think.

I wonder if Downie et al took any stick for not being alive to a story that went nuts on Twitter and was the second most watch feed that day .It was due to the way Phillie did his job but highlighted a much bigger problem with the media
Downie s comments after also showed his contempt for a large amount of people in the north east where he represents .
We may be division 3 but still should be reported on in a fair unbiased media .
Phillies reporting highlighted a much bigger issue in my humble
One reporter for a region is always gonna focus on the PL club. Issue was Keef should have kept schtum. We all know how it works and are well aware of our current plight. Throwing it in our faces is still a f***ing stupid idea.

If I were a journalist (as most of them guess or make it up anyway) based on everything I've heard this week this is what I'd write...

'Roy Keane will hold face to face talks later today with the Sunderland Owner after a telephone call two days ago where both parties expressed a 'keen' interest in Roy becoming the next SAFC manager. Whilst sources say that Grant McCann has interviewed well today and the Club would be confident in his appointment, the choice of Keane as the favoured option has been secured because of the hugely positive fan reaction to the possibility of Keane returning and the uplift this is likely to give the stalled promotion push.
Keane has apparently been talking to Sky and his other current employers in recent days to pave the way for a potential move and it seems all are willing to work around that possibility. Terms wont be an issue as both parties at this point are Keane to make it happen, the only doubt remaining is whether the two parties will see eye to eye in a face to face meeting. Should terms be agreed later today an announcement before Saturdays must-win clash with Doncaster Rovers is still a slight possibility, but Keane would not be taking charge until after the weekend at the earliest.

Lets be honest - this is probably where we are. The journos are crap.

Which, putting aside the matter of who it’s going to be, is ridiculous. We’ve 17 games left, we’ve had a week since Bolton after which Johnson was sacked because of the urgency in getting us up. To let another game of those 17 slip by when they’ve had a week is a big shame.

At this stage I think the bulk of the resistance to McCann (and other candidates) is that they’re not Roy Keane.
I think it's because they're too close to what we've had recently - uninspiring characters with patchy records who are generally unpopular with fans of their previous clubs.

I do think it would be different if we appeared to be showing some imagination in recruitment and casting the net far and wide rather than just looking at people who have experience of this league and have been sacked by other clubs.

Did you not read that Keane doesn't have an agent and his lawyer is deed so they probably have the ouji board out trying to summon his spirit to check the contract ower before he signs it with a quil and his blood. All this takes time man.

He could wander on to the pitch at 2:50pm and take the applause of the crowd but an announcement won’t happen while tickets are on sale. There’s about ~1500 seats left and there’s no chance of them opening upstairs now imo.

Exactly my thoughts.

We have a game Tuesday, we need new manager in dugout ASAP.

If it's not not announced until midday/late Monday then surely that means he won't be taking charge at Cheltenham either...

CLock and games are ticking...

99% of candidates available to us will be this. Let’s face it Roy Keane is an outlier and is only an option cos if previous connections.

Can't see Keane being keen (no pun intended) on wandering onto the pitch (as Raker mentioned earlier) like a circus act.
