Could be me mind playing tricks, but I seem to remember a few Saturday afternoons when it came down the business end of the season where they came back from behind a few times to win games.

Just a quick look there, Peterborough away, Crewe away, Fleetwood home. Came back twice to draw 2-2 with us.

He can have done all that and more, BUT...and this is key. He is the very definition of uninspiring. The kind of appointment that has had the fans so low for so long.

I get it mate. I am not saying he is the answer or my choice. There are many reasons for clubs to be relegated as we know. That getting Hull promoted on his cv is beyond argument a positive. Getting Doncaster to the play offs is a positive. I am sure the interview process would focus on what went wrong for him to get relegated.

When we appointed Denis Smith he was quite a dour steady character but he had grit. When we appointed Coleman he had charisma in buckets. We all want Keane but it is blinding us to exactly what we need.

At this stage I think the bulk of the resistance to McCann (and other candidates) is that they’re not Roy Keane.

I wonder if Downie et al took any stick for not being alive to a story that went nuts on Twitter and was the second most watch feed that day .It was due to the way Phillie did his job but highlighted a much bigger problem with the media
Downie s comments after also showed his contempt for a large amount of people in the north east where he represents .
We may be division 3 but still should be reported on in a fair unbiased media .
Phillies reporting highlighted a much bigger issue in my humble

I think the choice for me is down to who do we think can inject a bit of something immediately to give us the best chance of going up this season. I'm not really looking beyond that.

McCann and others are, I think, solid coaches potentially, but I'm not sure there's a better person to come in right now and get an immediate reaction than somebody like Keane.
