The advantage with Keane if he gets it right we can go all the way to the Premier. Some of the alternatives like McCann and LJ before him had limitations on how far they could go.
so for example we got McCann and he did get us up…. In a year from now we will be calling for his head and for Keane to replace him.
 
Been thinking about this a lot today and while I’m massively for and have been for years I’ve been trying to consider why people are nervous about it/ doubt it will work. Fair reasons have been mentioned but I keep thinking this. If David f***ing Moyes can get West Ham top 6 in the PL. If Steve Bruce and a whole host of feeble managers still get work bottom half of Prem top half of the Champ. Then I’m gunna back Roy to give it a good shot of getting us back up the leagues where we belong. Keanes got more about him than Moyes, Bruce and that no mark up the road ever will.

Also been looking at what his old assistant has been doing, been at Burnley for years and probably learnt/ grown a lot as a coach, even if he’d come back.

I didn't like LJ but I reckon for a club in our position it's better to hire someone who's actually managed a club personally within ten years

But maybe he'll just will us to sucsess cos he's git hard n that eh. If there's one thing we've been short of the past decade it's emotional gimmicks. Competent, skilled experienced staff are overrated imo.

Not a woosh - one of the factors being held against Keane is that it was in a different league. See post #6085

It's evident that he's done it before. Therefore there's more reason to think he could again, rather than to suggest he couldn't.

Same. Though it had been bigged up just on this forum but even on total sport, youtube and all over the main tabloids now to the point it is going to be a hammer blow if its not keane.

I don’t. He’s not welcome. He should know that.

Saying that. Johnson wasn’t welcome to me and he managed to stink the place out for long enough

This we need a big name that can get us back to where we need to be. He has a proven track record of being able to do it. All the others are Mickey Mouse
