Really interesting snippet at 35:30 in this interview, about how Keane loves preparing for games and working with players, but doesn't miss the other stuff (contracts, academy issues etc) of club management.

I'm not sure it's anywhere near as clear cut as "he wouldn't want to work in the system". I reckon that as long as he had the final say on transfers (working with Speakman and the recruitment bods), he would absolutely love the idea of having nothing else to do but focus on the team and the next game. Let Speakman get on with academy stuff, negotiating contracts, dealing with the medical team etc.

If he gets the job (and I really hope he does), it will be because he's discussed the role with Speakman, is clear on what his role is and is happy to do it.

Safest and probs best thing ( if he would agree) would be a 6 month initial contract with view to longer if both parties happy with progress made .
The “ lift off “ in the stadium if it works would be amazing -if it sadly did not -review in summer

People think he'd be like an old fashioned Cloughie style bloke wanting to have complete control over everything...when in actual fact that's complete BS.

Yet another misconception of him commonly made...

Watch the first bit of this after the joking about the Christmas jumpers when Richards asks him how he’d deal with De Gea and Maguire after he criticised them so much. Exactly what you need in a man manager.

We're in 3rd place, bladdered the nugget that gets a nose bleed whenever we got into an automatic position and we've made a few signings. All Keane would need to do is exactly what he did last time and at the end of the season there might well be a decent sum to spend.
