Why?
I live away from the North East now mate, and I can tell you that outside of the North East, our sacking of LJ. and our pursuit of RK is not even registering in the press. Nothing being said, and certainly not reported.
People aren't interested.
Mate, I'm 57, and if you break me in half, my insides are Red and White stripes.
But that really is the reality.
We NEED RK, not only to get us promoted, but to get the football world taking us seriously again , and showing what you and I , and all who follow us already know. WE ARE A MASSIVE CLUB.
I work in Leeds and its all any of my colleagues wanted to discuss since Thursday morning

I would also like to add before I go and get pissed and watch my beloved Sunderland, I couldn’t give a fuck what mags or Keith Downie says, Sunderland are and always will be relevant. We could get beat today, we could even fail to get promotion but anyone with an ounce of interest in English football, with the exception of those with a bias and an agenda, will f***ing well know it. If you can get under the skin of people like Roy Keane, well you are doing something right. We all know what happens if you can turn this club around, fans and club all singing from the same hymn sheet, it can sometimes feel like an unstoppable juggernaut. We don’t demand success, titles or cups like another club I could mention but we should damn well demand the respect that this f***ing club deserves. Sky boy wankers can fuck right off
Haway me Bonny lads
That's a rallying cry we can and should all get behind.

It's certainly patchy, when LJ left the BBC didn't have it on their main page (fair enough) or the main sport page (hmm), and not even on the main football page (really?), but the Roy Keane link has had decent coverage by contrast and is in local media north of the border for example. We're reaching the point we've been away too long and are in danger of becoming an ex-big club - this helps put us back towards the spotlight, but the biggest boost, of course, would be getting promoted.

It really has the same feel when Man City (of old) were in league 1. We just need the right navigator in charge.
