Hopefully it happens, he’s meant to be doing the Man Utd game on ITV tomorrow night

Could do that if it's announced tomorrow, but he's going to sit in the stands on Saturday. Interesting chat with Dave Jones. Knowing my luck, it will be announced between 7.30 and 9.30 when I'm stuck in a rehearsal.

If stories are true then he certainly said he wanted players to shout at each other and challenge but when they did he told them to stop being dicks. I think it was more about getting them to take responsibility. I’m frankly not convinced he’s a good appointment but he’s certainly an exciting one. If we’re going to balls up promotion might as well do it in entertaining fashion and there’s just a chance it might work.
I'm as excited as the next man, I just think there will be a few players apprehensive about this one. I hope we get him mind

I can't understand why people think having a 'hard man' in charge will automatically bring success. I'd rather have an astute manager in charge. No, I can't name one but Keane in charge worries me. Tell me where he has been successful then tell me his last managerial role. His first year at Sunderland is my memory followed by an unsuccessful season and four months.
Erm.....here? We were 23rd in The Championship when he arrived and finished champions.
We then stayed-up relatively comfortably the following season so how is that unsucessful? Our previous 2 season at that level yielded 19 and 15 points

Defoe would probably have second thoughts.
So he didn't understand how the players at Villa weren't as good as Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, etc and therefore didn't know how to talk to them, and yet he seemed to do ok with a Sunderland team at the bottom end of the Championship - I guess those players we had were as good as Utd?

Yep, Sleeves tells a story about how Kavanagh had a go at someone at half-time the next game after Keane had said the above to the squad.

Keane knew Kav was playing up and said something like "sit the fuck down Graeme" and cut him dead
