That's the disjunct in here. We can stay hovering around the playoff places in the Championship for a couple of years and the "model" could still be successful from a "business of football" perspective giving us financial stability. If it works really well, with good scouting and coaching, it could eventually get us promoted. Many fans, however, want promotion now and demand the investment necessary to get it, whether it fits the model or not. This club circled the drain in the PL for a lot of years and then got flushed right down. Reverting that and ensuring that it doesn't happen again is going to take time.

I don’t necessarily want promotion this season, but I do want to see progress, and at the moment I’m not seeing it. For example, this time last season we were struggling to break teams down who sat deep - one year on and nothing has changed.

2nd half was a big improvement on the 1st, are you claiming it wasn’t?
