*~*~* Rotherham v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Our expectations should be higher than this

It was Rotherham, Sunderland AFC should be able to put them away without breaking sweat

Leicester sweated and only just put them away in the last 5 mins

Swansea got the job done against them when they had a man sent off in the 15th minute

Took Bristol till the 95th minute to beat them

Ipswich didn’t
Boro didn’t
Leeds didn’t
Coventry didn’t
QPR didn’t
Preston didn’t
Norwich didn’t
Blackburn didn’t

They’re tough to beat at home in this league

'Give us out club back' is a shit phrase. If he goes he'll be replaced by another rich individual/consortium.

Only fan owned clubs have their club

Just got back, very frustrating first half again, nothings changed, no new ideas from the new head coach.

We got away with it at Hull, if the other team scores it’s a struggle to see where we will get 2 goals from, just as well we have Clarke.

I don’t think we can blame the players tonight, in my opinion that formation suffocates us.

Bringing Burstow on, as crap as he is, he gave their lads something to think about, someone running in behind creating space for others if nothing else.

As I’ve said just seems a bit odd that there’s no evidence of any input from Beale.
There’s no input from Beale because he hasn’t had the chance to. Being appointed so late was a joke - he probably hasn’t had a single proper training session yet and it’ll just be recovery days between games at this time of year. If only we had 14 days with only 1 game immediately after Mowbray left when he could have been out there grafting the lads…

Under those constraints it’s probably correct to not change the system entirely and expect miracles, suspect later in January we’ll start to see more change when he’s allowed time to actually train the lads

Consistently inconsistent. The performance and result makes the 1-0 win at Hull all the more suprising and random. I never turn my nose up at a point away from home no matter who it's against but looking at our forthcoming fixtures - Preston, Newcastle, Ipswich and Hull - there's a chance for Beale to either win the fans over or lose them completely. Despite my reservations I do hope that it's the former and time on the training ground, working with the players to implement his ideas and style will have the desired effect.

White dog shit seemed plentiful in the 70’s .. what led too it’s demise ?
The white comes from bones that the dogs ate. It used to be more common to include bone meal as a filler in dog food. It could be labelled “meat by-product” or something like that. Also, dogs ate more bones in the past.

That is googles line. My line is like everything else dogs were better when we were young. I was born 84 so it was already getting rarer, but a friend of mine had 2 German shepherd’s and they used to pop them out regular til about 1995. I don’t think I saw one as a teenager. RIP white dog shite

A very articulate and informative piece Hank .👍🏽
I’m a kid of the 70’s and it was more prevalent..
A very dry Crumbly consistency .

There seems to be a reluctance in the team to break with pace even when it’s on to do so. At one point in the first half tonight we had a break where it looked like it could have been 3 v 2 but Jobe decided to check back when he should have drove on, allowing Rotherham to get men back into position, it’s f***ing infuriating.
...because Jobe slows everything down most of the time.

Yeah, i just don't see what he offers going forward. I know he's young mate but he only plays because of his surname imo. Too slow in everything he does.
Been out best c..forward when played there. Has he played there again since getting the winner against Leeds?

Indeed, he should be battling with others for a place, but he seems to be untouchable. I would be surprised if there's something going on / was agreed as part of the transfer that he's an automatic starter. At the moment he offers pretty much nothing.

He needs to stop being caught out in the middle, sometimes he looks like an oil tanker turning in the middle and gets caught, it happened again last night when they tackled him, took it past onien and ended up 1v1 with patto.

I watched Ekwah specifically for 10 minutes when the second half started and my god he needs dropping. he pussies out of 50/50s, any pass over 4 ft and anything that isn't sideways or backwards. He is weak as piss at the moment and shouldn't be playing. Christ try anything, Rigg, 09, Jobe even (nearly cost us aswel, suprised he didnt go off or get sent off ). One minute DN is moving forward then Ekwah is ffs. But that middle of the park is area is costing us as much as the striker problem is.
He’s laughably bad but the experts on here think he’s amazing cos he shoots git hard

That's not saying much like  i know what you mean tho. He actually looked a bit of a handful at QPR away beginning of season, playing as a 9. Never seen it since or he hasn't played that position really much since. No way is he a 10 or a 8. Hasn't got the legs or mobility.

Totally agree mate. He's def been promised game time, only reason he would have came imo.

What happened to white dogshit? Why don't we see it anymore? I blame the owners for not buying CDM s when we don't need one so I'm raging! Just wow and I blame the manager for not turning a blatant CDM into one! But our current game doesn't need one! We also got 2 capable centre forwards, but it's up to the manager to find a system to get them firing!
Was Kevin Phillips a capable centre forward or a fullback when we signed him? Did the manager find a system to allow him to flourish?
They stopped putting ash in cheap dog food
