*~*~* Rotherham v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

A blind man can see we are struggling up front . If we don't correct that then all the good work will be wasted . I'm sure they will be working on it .
They'd better be working on keeping Clarke first and foremost, because that lad deserves more than the signs the club are giving off at the moment.
Wouldn't blame him at all for walking in January.
He thought he was at an ambitious club, but that's not how it looks now.

We weren't well placed at all. We were a fkn mess and in massive amounts of debt. You're just making stuff up now
It's like a huge amount of posters have had a collective memory loss . We were dying on our arse a few years ago and what they've achieved in such a short time is pretty impressive .

In Danny’s words “we werent at our best tonight”

Patterson got us the point tbh - so it wasn't a disaster - a point away from home shows there is fight in this squad

But the obvious problem of starting matches (and playing most of the match without using available subs) without a goalscorer/striker playing up top is staring Speakman in the face now

Will we do anything about this in the January window? I’m not holding my breath

All relegated sides have debt and sell players. We just had an owner who gave up. And going back to this season we had a head start on those coming down with a squad that didn't need much doing to it to succeed. We brought in 11 players, at present 1 of whom looks passable. The others have made us worse I'm the main.

So we weren't well placed 😂😂
I'll leave you to it as I think you're talking utter nonsense

Mowbray got the sack for telling him that.
I’m afraid the buck stops with the person bringing in the players. It’s unfair for the coach who’s responsible for their performances on the field. The head coach needs to have an input into incoming transfers.

We were hemorrhaging money and Short had given up . We really weren't in a good place .
I compared us to other relegated sides. We had an owner who'd given up but if pp or pickford money had gone into club we'd never have gone down. Who's to say where any of the relegated sides would have finished if they did same. Burnley last season were in huge amounts of debt, didn't have short though.

I'll take that , not at our best , a point away from home , I'll take that all day. Coach made changes and got us a point , now we have to beat Preston.

A point away from home can be a good point - if we had a weakened team, against a strong opponent, down to ten men, comingfron 2-0 down.

Against a bottom of the league team, I'm not convinced. Do they have a new manager or something ?

It's not unfair if the coach knows and accepts that when he signs on.

We were. Your confusing last season with relegated season. I'm stating that relegated sides aren't always certs to go back up. This season we had a decent squad to start with, we then chose to rip it up rather than build on it.

We have exactly the same points as we had after 25 games last season.

How about giving the manager a chance to settle in and work with the players for a couple of months before throwing all of the toys out of the pram?

Just a thought. 🤔

Yes their manager took the job 11th december , they beat boro 4 days ago,

Ermmmm.............nah.
He's a twat.

In what way?
We had the pp money most on here bang on about. We chose not to use it. Sane choice all teams coming down have. Any of this seasons teams could have gone sane way. Burnley were in huge amounts of debt last year but owners stood firm. It's not a given relegated sides go back up.

I'm confusing absolutely nothing. We weren't well placed after relegation. You've even mentioned that we had an owner who gave up.
You're very confused

We had fortunes in pp. Burnley were the same and went up.its about choices. It's nit a given teams go straight back up, see Watford, boro etc.
