Which begs the question, why? What is it that makes managers successful somewhere else consistently fail here, irrespective of the squad composition?

The prem years we were totally up against it and spent money horrifically supported by not being able to recoup funds for said players. JR is the first Manager in a decade to operate in a fair even environment. He’s fluffed his lines badly so far.....zero faith in him delivering promotion via play offs

I certainly haven't been critical of Ross but he fucked up badly last night.

Must win game, you know Maguire isn't going to last 90 minutes after 2 months out and you only make 2 subs. Leave Leadbitter our most creative midfielder and set piece expert on the bench. Play Gooch 90 minutes when he's having yet another stinker.

Lastly you take off your £4M forward and end up with a front 4 of:

Gooch, Honeyman, Sterling and Morgan.

Bar Morgan that lot wouldn't trouble a league 2 side and they never got a kick against Fleetwood.

Not really an apologist, but how many managers have we had now who've been alright before us, been alright after us, but looked absolutely clueless here?

It's not just the manager.

Everything at the club has changed before this season. Owners, manager, a lot of players. That leaves the AOL, the SOL, and the fans.

But not all. Two of the more suspect attitudes over the last few years are still in that dressing room, and earning more than everyone else. It's difficult to judge anything while that suspicion is there, especially when there's an awfully familiar pattern to our performances.
